Television plays a very important role in everyday life. As children grow and develop, they can be influenced by what they see and hear. Nowadays children are spending more time watching teevision programs. Excessive television viewing can have adverse effect such as more violent, education, drug or alcohol and sexual behavior.

Excessive television viewing can have adverse effect such as violence; it is all over the media today. It is especially seen in popular fiction programs among children. The children do not understand between reality and fiction. They are imitating what they see on the program. For example, a seven year old child in Dallas killed his little brother with a “clothesline” maneuver he had seen on a wrestling show on television. Violence and immorality in television programs has affected today’s youth and is directly related to increase in juvenile crime and the breakdown of moral values in society.

Excessive television viewing can have adverse effect such as educations; Children are lacking their interest in education. They don’t bother about their studies or homework. Instead, they spend hours watching their favorite shows and television programs. Gradually, they absent from the school or drop from the school. They started lying to the parents and developed aggressive behavior that means they start fighting or arguments with their parents, friends and neighbors. They spoil their career. They can’t get good job. Also they are increasing their obesity. Eating too much junk food and watching too much television are two major causes for obesity.

Excessive television viewing can have adverse effect such as drug or alcohol use and sexual behavior .Television shows alcohol or drug use, smoking, and sexual behaviors that are not suited for young viewers one example is “Jerry Springer’s Show”. It has a combination of violence and sexual behavior.
