The Evolution of Evolution

The views of society towards the creation of humanity have rapidly changed since the discovery of evolution. Nevertheless, there was a time before the world did not know the theory of evolution and the theories demonstrated by Sir Charles Darwin. Before the evolution, there were people who were subjected to religious ideologies of how mankind was created, they believed that the upper class was known to be “divine creatures”. However, the introduction of evolution leads the theory to be the base of biology and changes the minds of people all over the world.
Firstly, before the theory of evolution, there was the idea of humans being created by God. For example, in Greek mythology it was believed that man was created by Prometheus (The creation of man by Prometheus, 2014). In Christianity, it was believed that God created humans, in the bible it states: “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female.” (New international version Genesis 1:27). Society would rely on religious views for the answer of how the human race was created. Before the book “On origin of Species” was published, society would also rely their questions to be answered by religion and not by science since there was little development in the field of science. Questions like why do we share so much genetic trait with apes or why bonobos are bipedal like us were all questioned by society before evolution (Comparing the human and chimpanzee genomes searching for needles in a haystack Varki and Altheide, 2014). However, evolution has lead us to understand how we have evolved from one species to another throughout time. We now understand how our genetic traits matches with other species and how other species walk upright like us...

... to the other. At first, society did not accept the evolution but that did not stop Charles Darwin from arguing that it is a fact.
In conclusion, the views of society has changed since the introduction of evolution because at first society would rely upon religion to answer their questions but after the introduction of evolution they now understand that religion cannot answer every question. The past society thought that white Europeans are a divine creature which was proved to be false since we all evolved from one ancestor. There was huge amount of debate when Charles Darwin published the Origin of species and society did not accept its ideologies at first. However, as time went on it became more believable. Charles Darwin shows society that no matter what you do or say people will always judge so it is up to us to have a passion for keep on doing what we do.
