Human beings are curious by nature. Science exemplifies this inherent nature that most people feel at least to some extent. Science is the art of asking why. Why does the moon sometimes look like a perfect circle, a semi-circle, or disappears all together? Why do things fall to the ground when they are dropped? Why can a chair support a person against the force pulling him or her down? Why does a chair retain its shape, water take the shape of its container, but stays at the same amount, and perfume seem to fill the whole room? All of these are Questions that someone in history asked and then tried to figure out why for himself or herself. If there was no prior way of describing or classifying these things he or she would make a term to describe it. The chair is a solid; it retains its shape regardless of its container. The water is a liquid; liquids retain their original volume, but move to fill the container they are placed in. The perfume is a vapor which is a gas; it defuses throughout the room, mixing with the existing air, conforming to both the volume and shape of the room.
One question many scientists have discussed and formed theories about is how humans came to be, how where humans created, and how humans got to where we are today. One predominant theory emerged planting its roots in Charles Darwin’s findings published in On the Origin of Species. This is the theory termed evolution, or more accurately termed natural selection. This theory has grown to now being widely accepted by the science community as the only credible explanation as to how humans came to inhabit the world. Since it has become so highly regarded, it is also part of the teaching curriculum in ...

...t the various types of animals and plants have their origin in other preexisting types and that the distinguishable differences are due to modifications in successive generations” (Evolution.) In basic terms the theory of evolution states that as time goes on species evolve, which simply means change. As species evolve if a certain trait appears that will benefit the species in one way or another that trait is intentionally bred by the species. After a species begins to mutate it may evolve further into another species altogether. Evolutionist says that through this process of mutating and adapting all life forms stem from the same single celled organism billions of years ago. This theory is highly based on Charles Darwin’s research and findings as he traveled on the HMS Beagle to places like Brazil, Chile, Australia, the Falkland Islands and the Galapagos Islands.
