Introduction
“We’ve done dental hygiene but not mental hygiene. So the question is, ‘How do we go from where we are now to where we need to be?’” (Khalsa, 2012)

Everyday society assumes yoga is just a physical health practice that will make people substantially fit. Social media is making people believe that Yoga is mostly good for exercising in a social, trendy fashion environment. What society does not know is Yoga plays a huge role in emotional hygiene, more so than physical health, Yoga develops a healthy emotional stability for its participants that lead to a healthy lifestyle. Emotionally, Yoga can develop a healthy emotional lifestyle for its participants while leaving a person with more positivity, determination and strength in the human mind.

The outcome between how society pictures yoga and what dedicated Yogis think of yoga may result in a successful result.

Background

This qualitative case study is an approach to research how yoga can affect the human mind in a positive way and lead to a healthy lifestyle using 2 sources one being a book called The Science Of Yoga: The Risks and the Rewards by William J. Broad 2012. And the other being a private interview with a 22 year old male Yogi. This ensures that the issue is not getting explored through one side, but rather a variety of sides which allows for different inputs to be reveled and understood. There are two key approaches that help determine if yoga helps affect the human mind in a positive way. One flourished by William J. Broad (2012) which explores different factors on how yoga contributes to a healthy lifestyle and interviews fellow yogis who give there insight on the matter. In the discussion with the Yogi who has practiced yoga for 7 years it is very evident that the process of having a healthy emotional lifestyle when it comes to yoga was not determined by status gain or social media. According to the Yogi that was interviewed, 3 years ago the yoga studios where packed because it was the social trend, now of days people are in it because they believe in it and what I can do to contribute to a healthy lifestyle

Data analysis
Data analysis consists of mapping the interview data and the associated material relating the Yogi to the conceptual frame. The view taken about Yogi’s positive lifestyle. The data analysis summarizes the key points that backups the argument that yoga plays a positive impact that contributes to a healthy emotional frame of mind.
