After World War I, the United States entered an era known as “The Roaring 20`s”. This time was only roaring for the rich, the poor men and women were living a life of misery and depression. Fitzgerald it proclaims that the rich were going to Jay Gatsby’s parties, and drinking and partying but doesn’t say anything about the poor. But when WWI veterans came to the white house to demand the money they were guaranteed, Hoover sent the military to disperse the riot. Hoover also said that “Prosperity is around the corner”. Hoover was an ineffective president, in perspective of Americans. He made false promises and made millions of people in a state of depression.
The 1920s was not roaring at all. If President Hoover took further action to stop the Depression than the 1920`s would of indeed been roaring. Since the 1920s the economy has been unstable. The stock market almost experienced a disaster a few years ago. The 1920`s were not roaring. The 1920s was a time in which Americans were in debt, immigrants were racially profiled, and how an ineffective president did nothing to fix it.
