The site has a large number of wind turbines. The first wind farm to be built was the Coomagearlaghy/Kilgarvan wind farm. This site was commissioned in 2006 and is operated by SWS. This site contains 15 Vestas V90/3000 turbines each with a power of 3MW. The total nominal power of the site is 45MW. This section of the site is estimated to have an annual production of 112GW.h (for an equivalent of 2,500 hours of full load/year).
More turbines were built in Inchincoosh and Letercannon. This site contains 13 Nordex N90 turbines. This section of the wind farm is also known as Coomagearlaghy III. Each one of these turbines has a power output of 2.5MW leading to a total nominal power for the site of 32.5MW. The estimated annual production of this site is 81GW.h. The site was commissioned in 2009 and is operated by Bord Gais Energy.
Ten more wind turbines were commissioned in 2009 at the Sillahertane section of the site. This section of the wind farm is also known as Coomagearlaghy II. The turbines in this area are Vestas V52, each with power output of 0.85MW. The total power output of the site is 8.5MW. The site is estimated to have an annual production of 21GW.h. This part of the site is operated by Bord Gais Energy.
There are two substations located on the site. On the day of our visit we were at the Coomagearlaghy 110kV substation. This is connected to the Clonkeen substation via 6km of overhead lines. The table below summarises the various areas in the Kilgarvan site.

...ut of 2.5MW for the Nordex N90’s at this location occurs at a wind speed of 13m/s. The wind speed at Sillahertane varies from 9 – 9.25 m/s at a height of 75m. The turbines used at Sillahertane are the Vestas V52 which has an optimum power output of 0.85MW at 16m/s. Fig 6 below shows the wind speeds at the various hub heights for both Inchincoosh and Sillahertane.

The average wind on the entire site is approximately 9m/s. Wind speeds of 7.5m/s are deemed economically viable. The wind speed can vary dramatically onsite. The wind speed was very low at 3m/s when we were there and we were told on our site visit that there have being wind speeds up to 50m/s experienced on the site. To prevent any damage the turbines cut out at a certain wind speed. This is typically 25m/s for the turbines on site.

The proposed wind farm will be built in an area known as Horseshoe Shoal, located five miles off the south shore of Cape Cod, in Nantucket Sound. Cape Wind Associates is the organization planning to build the wind farm. The farm will be visible in all areas that face the sound on Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. The wind farm will consist of 130 wind turbines, each turbine measuring 420 feet in height, each turbine about a quarter of a mile apart, covering a 24-square mile area. If built, it will be the largest wind farm in the world.
You’ll almost always find these wind turbines in open fields and they are usually called wind farms. Because these wind turbines create so much turbulence they have to be so far apart from each other and they can’t be right behind each other (Gipe). These wind turbines have to be 200-300 feet in the air because the blades on these wind turbines are 65-130 feet long (Gipe). Also these wind turbines have to have a 17 miles per hour wind to start spinning, because a wind smaller than that won’t create enough energy
It’s a valley in Egypt that was used for over 500 years during ancient Egyptian times as a resting place for Pharoahs. The site’s most famous Pharaoh buried at the site is King Tut, which started the Pharoah’s Curse legend when a group of Archaeologists died excavating the tomb. Almost all of the tombs have been ransacked since ancient times but, much of the beauty and architectural ingenuity can still be seen at the site. all, Song has deceived a somewhat intelligent individual for over twenty years. I saying , Song :"Rule One is " Men always believe what they want to hear." ( 82 ) I don't think that is entirely accurate,but Song has proven it to be throughout the play in dealing with Gallimard. So basically in that area Song's "rule" applies. Gillimard wanted to believe his "love" was indeed a young , Oriental woman. He refused to acknowlege otherwise because that was his " fantasy". However, I must disagree when "Rule One" also states, Song: " So a girl can tell the most obnoxious lies and the guys will believe them every time--" (82 ) Again, as far as Song's relationship with Gillimard is concerned, it is again truthful. However, I think that would be an extreme exaggeration in speaking of "men" in general, even in terms of "men" in this play. I don't think Song could have fooled Marc for very long. I think perhaps we see some of Hwang's own experiences in his life poking through into the play.
Malcolm x was one of the great civil rights leaders during the 1960’s. He spoke for self-sufficiency and rights for all and believed; “I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I'm for justice, no matter who it's for or against.” (Malcolm X). Malcolm X was at a great disadvantage all through his life. He was treated badly by the white population in Lansing, Michigan; his family was the only African Americans to attend the local schools. Malcolm X was rejected and often left out from pursing any opportunities throughout his whole life. This made him vulnerable, as a youngster to logical ideologies. From the time he was little he never settled for status quo, it was his hopes and ambitions that kept him searching for the truth.
These include the history of windmills and their role concerning the survival in the immense plains that range from east of the Rocky Mountains to the Mississippi River. The rise of the economic condition of those living around the wind farms along with the surge of investments from energy companies. Finally, the promising data relating to the amount of energy produced, and the consequences they will have on the environment. In the later and longer part of the article, the possible negative results or wind farms are brought up. Primarily, the points against wind farms have to do with the conservation of wildlife. This is separated into two sections, the first addresses the dangers wind turbines present to birds, the other on the dangers presented to bats.
Just as long as wind continues to blow and the sun shines, then wind power can produce energy to send to many different areas. There aren’t many locations that have continuous wind. And because of that, the widespread development of wind power isn’t as great as it could be. Although there are more advantages than disadvantages when it comes to this energy source, the disadvantages should be taken just as seriously. Wind power can harm animals, there was a study that stated birds were coming in contact with turbines and dying.
...ave any long-term effects. This is of course different for the Atlantic Ocean. Sound Science is going to be used to avoid, minimize, and mitigate direct and indirect impacts of this project. The major habitats and environmental resources that can be impacted are seafloor habitats, coastal habitats, fishery resources, marine mammals, marine and coastal birds, and bats. The start of the building of these offshore wind turbines will disturb some species’ daily or seasonal movement patterns. Some habitats will avoid areas that have a disturbance and will never return to that area. When building these wind turbines, they should be placed as far offshore as possible, avoid sensitive areas, try not to build near areas that are already indicated by the state or federal government to have some problems, and utilize best management practices to try to minimize projects risk.

The Coelga Wind Farm was the first wind farm built in South Africa which was built in the Eastern Cape; due to the success of the wind farm many more were built. The problem with wind turbines is they can't be used in a place such as Gauteng, because the wind is minimal and the wind turbines can't be turned and no power can be produced.
The wind is an incredibly valuable renewable energy source and is in the forefront of renewable energy developments. It is used to convert wind energy into energy that can be harnessed and used via a variety of methods, including; wind turbines, windmills, sails and windpumps. For a renewable energy source, however, it is wind turbines that are used to generate electricity (see figure 1). Wind power has been used for this since the end of the nineteenth century, after Professor James Blyth of the Royal College of Science and Technology first attempted it (Boyle, 2012). However, It wasn’t until the 1980s that using wind power technology was sufficient enough to experience a rapid growth of the technology.
Wind is a form of solar energy. The term wind energy describes the process by which the wind is used to generate electricity or mechanical power. Wind turbines convert mechanical energy from the wind into electrical power. Wind turbines usually have three main parts. There are blades that connect to a central hub, a box behind the blades that contains the generator, and a long stem that connects to the ground. The way how it works is that the wind turns the blades, which spins a shaft that connects to a generator making electricity. After the electricity is produced it is sent through transmission lines to a substation that is sent to business and homes. For the sake of our planet, we must promote a renewable energy economy. Wind power can be a foundation of that sustainable energy future because it provides jobs in states that are building wind turbines, is a renewable energy source, and does not damage our environment. The environment will not be damaged by the pollution, the natural resources will not be used up, and there won’t be generating of hazardous wastes. Welcoming wind energy today will lay the foundation for a healthy tomorrow that will affect everyone in the United States. There are obstacles and challenges that will make it more difficult, but the environmental impact is well worth it to invest more money into wind energy.
