Tutankamun’s Life
Tutankhamun, or better known as King Tut, was a pharaoh who accomplished little in his life. He did not expand Egypt’s borders nor enjoy triumphant victories like the many pharaohs before him; however, he is the most recognized and probably the most famous pharaoh today. But why is he so famous? This answer can be attributed to the discovery of his tomb and his elaborate treasure.
King Tut’s tomb was a major discovery of the 19th century. It was discovered November 4, 1922 in the Valley of the Kings by Howard Carter. It was a phenomenal discovery that made headlines across the world. Up until the discovery of King Tut’s tomb, it was believed that all royal tombs had been robbed and drained of their treasure.
For the first time, a tomb, which was almost intact, had been discovered and remained hidden from robbers for thousands of years. The tomb revealed an elaborate lifestyle that many people could only dream about as well as providing clues and insight into King Tut’s life and how he lived.
Even though little is known about Tutankhamen’s life, we do know that he was given the throne at a young age, which it has been estimated that he was about eight or nine years old when this happened. During the time that this occurred, Egypt was in turmoil due to his father’s religious movement. His father, which is believed to be Akhenaten, had changed the religious system and the old beliefs that had been practiced for hundreds of years before him. This religious change angered many angry citizens and priests. Tutankamen was left with an angry and chaotic Egypt to rule.
The birth name of Tutankhamen was Tutankhaton, which meant “Living Image of the Aten.” His father, which remains a mystery, is believed to be Akhenaten, although some evidence points to Amenhotp III. His mother remains a mystery as well but she is believed to be Kiya.
It is thought that Tutankhaton must have had a good childhood. He probably spent his younger years hunting, swimming, and studying. His tomb revealed he enjoyed board games. Like most children, he probably found politics unexciting and went about his environment enjoying leisurely activities. Because he was a child, he probably had an ignorant view about his father’s teachings and politics. He was also believed to be an ill child due to the many walking canes that were found inside his tomb.
We find cases of this struggle between mind and heart before the events of the text even start. After Gatsby leaves Daisy for his service in the war, she starts dating multiple men in an attempt to find someone to replace Gatsby. Daisy decides that her most suitable and beneficial partner would someone who’s connection is one “of love, of money, [and] of unquestionable practicality”,
The site of Emperor Haung’s tomb is located in Lintong, Shaanxi province, near the city of Xi’an in China (Kesner 1995). After its completion in 210 BCE, it was covered by earth mined from an area near the Wei River, sealing it away from the outside world for over two thousand years (Swart 1984). While ancient historians wrote of the unbelievable tomb, hidden under a massive pile of earth, many modern historians simply did not believe it to be true. However, between 1932 and 1970, five figures of kneeling servants were found near where the tomb mound was thought to be (Swart 1984). The mausoleum itself was eventually unearthed in 1974 by farmers who were digging wells and accidentally broke into a vast pit containing life-sized statues of about 6,000 soldiers and horses. A group of Chinese archaeologists were assigned to excavate the site and dig up its ancient treasures. In 1976, two more underground pits were found with about 1,500 more soldiers and horses (Swart 1984). Other than the clay soldiers and horses, brass figures were discovered...
King Tut or Tutankhamun (reigned 1343-1325 BC), Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty, the son-in-law of Akhenaton, whom he succeeded. He became Pharaoh about the age of 9 and ruled until his death; which was about the age of 18. Peace was brought to Egypt during his reign as the worship of Amon, abandoned under Akhenaton, was restored and Thebes, the city sacred to Amon, was again made Egypt's capitol.
One day when Shmuel gets sent to shine glasses at his house him and Bruno start talking. A soldier see them and Bruno told him he didn’t know who he was, and the soldier beats the boy, Bruno feels terrible and want to make it up to Shmuel. Bruno wants to understand why the life behind the fence is so awful and why Shmuel isn’t happy. Bruno thinks it’s not better, but interesting because there are other kids to play with. They form a strong bond that can't be broken by anything and it makes him realize that his friends in Berlin weren't as special as Shmuel is and their friendship. The two boys have been talking and have been friends for about a year and decide that Bruno wants to go on the other side of the fence to see what its like and help him find his papa.
King Tut was born during the Golden Age in Egypt. He was thought to be originally named Tutankhaten which means “living image of the Aten.” It is also believed that he is the grandson of Amenhotep the third, the ninth king of Egypt. When he was young he was cared for by a woman named Maya. At the age of five the powerful Akhenatan died. Soon after that would start the rein of King Tut to lead Egypt. (Hawass 29-56)
Little is known about the origins of Nefertiti but it seems unlikely that she was of royal blood. We know of no one claiming to be related to Nefertiti. Her father was possibly a high official of Amenhotep III and Akhenaten called Ay, who went on to become Pharaoh after Tutankhamun. "Nefertiti may have been a foreigner who, quite literally, arrived at the Egyptian court in order to marry the king"(Tyldesley 1999). There is no firm date for the royal marriage; although monumental evidence suggests that it occurred either just before or shortly after Amenhotep's accession to the throne. Akhenaten and Nefertiti had six daughters, the elder three being born at Thebesm and the younger three at Amarna: Meritaten (Beloved of the Aten'), Meketaten (Protected by the Aten'), Ankhesepaaten (Living through the Aten'), Neferneferuaten (Exquisite Beauty of The Sun Disc'), Neferneferure (Exquisite Beauty of Re'), and Setepenre (Chosen of Re') (Tyldesley 1999). It is possible that she also had sons, although no record has been found of this. It was a practice in Egyptian art not to portray the male heirs as children. Possibly, she may have been the mother of Tutankhamun, the boy pharaoh who succeeded to the throne at the age of eleven and died nine years later (Sporre 2000).
Tom acts the way he does such as cheating on Daisy due to the normality in his life, day by day nothing changes. Whereas in Gatsby’s life every day is different, he has huge parties and lives a very enjoyable life making it easier for him to focus on Daisy instead of looking for distractions form the norm.

King tut reign was relatively unimportant, but he was the most famous pharaoh, when his treasure-filled tomb was discovered in the early twentieth century, King tut was only eighteen when he died. King tut real name is Tutankhamen. Historians believe that he is the son of Amenophis iii or Akhenaten. Tutankhamen was the only child when he became king, although he reigned for eight full years. Examination of his body show that he was a little older than eighteen when he died. King tut married Ankhnesamun, the third daughter of the fourteenth century Egyptian rulers Ikhnaton and Nefertiti. The Coffin of Tentkhonsu, observed at the National Museum of Natural History, was very eye drawing, its drawings on the outside and inside captive that mummies journey to rebirth. The readings of the artwork state that the mummy of Tehtkhonsu has never been completely identify. The coffin also dates back to 3,000 years.
Bruno accepts Schmuel as a human being, not a jew, who does not seem like a bad person. While everyone else fails to looks beyond their prejudices, Bruno wants to be friends with someone who is told should be his enemy. He sees that him and Schmuel are no different. He comes to understand that Pavel is not a bad man or just a potato-peeler, he realizes that he his a good man.
Ben Stein’s quote: “The first step to getting the things you want in life is this; Decide what you want.” The quote is the key element of the The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, such as the point where different individuals are after something and are even willing to give their own life over it even if it seems like a small goal in our eyes.Through Gatsby’s and Myrtle’s goals, Fitzgerald illustrates his agreement with Ben Stein’s quote: “The first step to getting the things you want in life is this; Decide what you want.”
Bruno, an eight year old boy at the time of the war, is completely oblivious to the atrocities of the war around him - even with a father who is a Nazi commandant. The title of the book is evidence to this - Bruno perceives the concentration camp uniforms as "striped pajamas." Further evidence is the misnomers "the Fury," (the Furher) and "Out-With" (Auschwitz). Bruno and Shmuel, the boy he meets from Auschwitz, share a great deal in common but perhaps what is most striking is the childhood innocence which characterizes both boys. Bruno is unaware that his father is a Nazi commandant and that his home is on ther periphery of Auschwitz. Shmuel, imprisoned in the camp, seems not to understand the severity of his situation. When his father goes missing, Shmuel does not understand that he has gone to the gas chamber.

The tomb of Queen Nefertiti has never been found. There are beliefs it is located in a passageway that connects to the tomb of King Tut. It is said that Nefertiti and Akhenaten the parents of King Tut although there is no way of confirming. In August of 2015 Nicholas Reeves of the University of Arizona said that he is able to locate the tomb of the Queen in a wall in the Valley of Kings. Confirmation of this exact location has not been given, however it brings researchers closer to finding the mystery that is
