A current emerging technology are the iPads. Ever since the iPads have been invented, people’s lives are much easier. People do not need to bring laptops, if they have a iPad because iPad do many similar things and are much lighter than laptops. The iPads allow you to do several tasks such as browsing the web, take pictures, take notes, watch videos, or play games. iPads has greatly impacted Youtube. iPads have allowed users to go on portably, without the use of laptops or computers. Videos can also be enjoyable on iPads because the screen is still big enough to watch. iPads will significantly increase the number of views and users on Youtube, which will result in more money and more popularity.
In the gruesome novel, All Quiet On The Western Front, Erich Maria Remarque, tells a story of a young boy named Paul Bäumer that fights in World War I as a German soldier. Paul is the protagonist and the narrator for most of the novel. The reader can see, through Paul, the horrors of war. Critics agree that the novel is believable. “Paul's story is the realization of the horror of war…” (Tighe 60). The setting of the novel is in the trenches of the Western Front in France and in Germany. There are numerous cultural aspects going on within this anti-war novel. Remarque accurately portrays the culture aspects of, male roles, family relations, the economy, and historical references to life during World War I in Germany and France for the soldiers on the Western front during the last two years of Word War I between 1916 and 1918.
Those videos can even be shared on other forms of social media like Facebook and Twitter. According to The Telegraph’s article How YouTube changed the world, they state that “The online video behemoth has become the world’s third most-visited website, after Google and Facebook” (How YouTube changed the world). This website has thousands of videos that anyone with access to the it and internet can view. In the same article, they explain that Youtube has been the birthplace of some celebrities in the music, fashion, and video game scenes. (How YouTube changed the world). Because of how easy it is for a person to watch these videos and share them from all across the world, American culture, and other cultures can be spread to each other. It is almost like the United States in a website, where a wide variety of people share their different beliefs, and can influence, or inform others of what they have to show, or
Revealing how the world was discovered stirred up controversy between the Indians and Christopher Columbus as well as the “right of discovery.” Christopher Columbus feels that he discovered the “New World” because he is the one who brought attention to it and declared it Spain’s. However, the Indians believe that they discovered it because they were the ones who were living there before it was even known. How can something be discovered when it has already been found? In the book, Five Hundred Years, it states that, “English speakers, meant to uncover: to reveal something that already exist.”(1) The “Right of Discovery” belongs to the Indians because they were not only there first to live there, but found that land, however, Columbus set a pathway to manifest destiny by taking a land already occupied for his own. He took over a land and gave it national attention across the world. If it is continued to be believed that discovers are the ones who have the right to do what they want with the land, expansion might not have been an option. The revealing that Columbus did opened doors for others to expand and to utilize all resources to make America better.
Using leaders of YouTube with a large subscriber base and grouping them together for a joint effort media campaign, is proving itself very innovative. An excellent example is Hannah Hart, DailyGrace and Mamrie Hart collaborating for ‘movie night” where they get together and watch a movie on Netflix and discuss, they ask you to get a membership with Netflix (using offering a coupon code to get a free month upon subscribing to their youtube channel) and everyone watches together in real time, their request reaches around 670,000 views. This also leads to a discussion on Facebook and Twitter about what they just did. It’s like having a personal movie theatre with all of your online friends.
Race has had a major impact on our society in every single aspect of our lives. Racism is taken to an even larger scale in a sports setting. Emotions are high and people say things about other people without thinking. This is not something that has just started to occur; these things have been happening for many, many years. Sport brings out a whole different type of person whether it is the player or even a fan. Whichever it may be, both have a significant impact on how racism is involved in sport. Racism 70 years ago was a very difficult time for the African American culture. Back then “the only difference between the black man shining shoes in the ghetto and the black sprinter is that the shoeshine man is a nigger and the sprinter is a fast nigger.”(counterpunch.com) The sports world is more diverse than it was back then, but has it truly changed?
Since I am going to be a special education teacher I started my observation out in a special education classroom at Rocky Hill. Rocky Hill has around 682 kids attending this school, and the grade levels are PreK-5. The main ethnicity at this school is white at eighty-two percent. They also have the ethnicities of Hispanic at seven percent, African American at five percent, Asian at three percent, and two or more races at one percent. The socioeconimic status at this school is upper middle class, with mostly working dads and stay-at-home moms. Twenty-six percent of the kids attending this school are on free or reduced lunches. The class size in this special education classroom is nine children. The diversity of the kids in the classroom are mainly white and black. There is one main teacher, one assistant teacher, and two helpers. Their names are Ms. T, Ms. R, Ms. G, and Mr. L.
Moving on to the next part of the case, the police finds out that Adam's sister, Eve, has images of bestiality and necrophilia saved on her computer. Both bestiality and necrophilia fall under the category of extreme pornography. Extreme pornography usually refer to any sexual representations that entail violence and are only published for sexual arousal. The Criminal Justice and Immigration Act (CJIA) 2008 strictly forbids the possession of any kind of images deemed to be pornographic and/or extreme. Subsection (6) and (7) describes in detail the description of extreme representations; having "sexual intercourse or oral sex with animal" and having "sexual interference with human corpse" are both stated on the section 63(7) of the CJIA. In addition, any act that "threatens a person's life, ... which results..., in serious injury to a person's anus, breasts, or genitals, ... or is grossly offensive..." are also regulated under the same law. Subsection (8) states that possessing not only hard copies of the images but also computer-stored data is subject to being prosecuted. Thus, the image files Eve had of bestiality and necrophilia on her computer are illegal under CJIA s.63(1). The convict can be punished with two years of imprisonment if faced with these charges.
One would never be capable of living through the horrific war in Vietnam without developing any sort of coping mechanism. Some preferred self-abusing mechanisms which include dope and alcohol, while others developed psychological mechanisms which almost ‘grew on them like a parasite’. Although it is the most gruesome technique, killing others was also a way for soldiers to get through the war. Of all these methods to survive the war, there is no better or worse method, due to the fact that different things worked for different soldiers. Unquestionably, drinking and smoking was the most obvious way to cope with the war. Be it legal or not, it was the most common approach to dealing with guilt, fear, and anxiety caused by the war.
They put stories that are supposedly private. Imagine, stories together with sexual experiences are available and many are also provided with graphics. (Straubhaar and La Rose) Sometimes it reaches to the point that sexual violence is televised. Although it is clearly stated in YouTube’s Community Guidelines and terms of Use that YouTube is not for pornography and sexual explicit content, YouTube still contains videos with nudity and sexually suggestive content. Sexually suggestive content includes explicit texts, nude or semi-nude images and videos shared by texts, emails, and
Cayari, Christopher. "The Youtube Effect: How Youtube Has Provided New Ways To Consume, Create, And Share Music." International Journal Of Education & The Arts 12.6 (2011): ERIC. Web. 15 Jan. 2014.
Starting in 2005, YouTube has become an online source of information and media for millions of viewers worldwide. Google bought the site in 2006 for $1.65 billion in stock and since then has only grown larger and more powerful, incorporating advertisements, movies, news broadcasts and most recently music awards. However, with new additions to the videos that include advertisements, company sponsorship and the ability to purchase movies through PayPal has changed the dynamics and environment around this popular site. What started as a simple social media site has turned into one of the most popular ways to advertise and display messages to the public, personalizing advertisements and creating new ways to interact with audiences.

Before YouTube was bought out by Google it was suffering from financial struggles. The company was a victim of its own success as consumer demands for their service would allow people to upload videos to YouTube which continued to add capacity (Kafka, 2010). Consequently, the company could not turn a profit. In fact, consumer demand for YouTube remains strong today as there are hundreds of hours of video uploaded to YouTube every minute and there are now hundreds of YouTube channels that can be subscribed to (Youtube, n.d.). Google, o...
