Diversity is common throughout the world, and without it we would all be indistinguishable. Diversity not only describes someone's race or ethnicity, but also others opinions and beliefs. It gives people identity and the ability to be different, not just based on the way they look. It is an absolute must in the world to have diversity, if not then there will be no excellence. Diversity is to be respected, for it is a natural way of living, one cannot change an accident of birth. Being Different has a profound effect in everyday life, without diversity, there would be no growth, no change, and nobody will stand out to make an impact on the world. Growth is something very needed in one's lifetime, whether it's physically or mentally. Growth allows a person to exede others or even grow upon the person they were before. Diversity allows one to grow, and show there own individuality. Being diverse and unique is a way of expressing yourself and standing out, instead of fitting in. People shouldn’t bend to the ideals of others just to be liked or admired. One person who has shown individuality and made a change was Daru, from the story “The Guest” by Albert Camus. He was given a task to look and watch over an Arab prisoner, then turn him into prison the next day. When the time came to turn the prisoner in, he went against his orders and took the prisoner halfway to let him choose between a new life, or turning himself in. He decided to be different, and he stood up for what he believed was morally correct.
