I have recently taken on the task of completing a Foundation Degree in Early Years, Play work and Education at Cambridge Regional College. It has been a 3-year course and I graduate in October 2017. I am very lucky to be completing this degree and furthering my knowledge and understanding of the education sector. After completing this, I will be moving onto my BA Hons Top Up degree in Education. Here you can see a photograph of my poster I made as part of my assignment for Equality and Diversity and it talks about all the different pieces of legislation that surround Equality and Diversity. I know all cant get the same chance but I hope my change in teaching literacy can reach the future generate. I want to contribute to the grown of the future generation’s ability to gain an education. With education, they will be able to express their emotion in any form and way.

The work sampling system plays an integral part in many teachers’ assessments of their students. The work sampling system is based off teachers’ observations of their students through problem solving, classroom interaction, classroom learning, and creating. It is an authentic performance assessment because everything you collect on a student is their authentic work, and cannot be recreated. The system can be used in pre kindergarten through fifth grade. The system also uses three interrelated parts, those parts being developmental guidelines and checklists, portfolios and summary reports. After my completion of the project, I re-examined my career and life goals. Before I discovered that Edutopia was my idea of paradise, I had never realized that education was so important to me. When I did, though, I decided to pursue a career in education.
Today as I sit in a graduate class I realize how closer I am getting to the dream I once had as a child. I, Dominique Jerome a Haitian-American always dreamt of being a teacher at a high school and college level. My love for history has grown each and everyday from the second I started attending primary school. As I sit back and recollect on myself as a maker, I realize without my culture, my motivation, my family and passion I would not be where I am at today. My hopes and dreams are to be an asset to the world of academia whether it’s in the classroom or outside the classroom.
I wanted to start making a difference in kids as soon as I had the chance. I started to take Early Childhood Education classes at my school. This course was rigorous and so important, due to the fact we ran a preschool of 20 four and five-year old’s. Their education was in our hands; we were that building block for their first insight on school. I feel in love with writing lesson plans and being hand in hand with other teachers and the students became a part of my life that I never wanted to go away. I interned at an elementary school just to get more involved and learn more about collaborating. I started taking a Teaching as a Profession class, so I could not only know today’s education but become familiar with the history of education, how to accommodate your classroom for students with special needs, and the issues in todays education. I completed this class and took the state mandated test to complete the pathway and get a cord at graduation. I came in on Sundays to work and study with my teacher for this test and it all paid off when I passed the test with the highest score out of the nine people who took the test. While this was all happening I was inducted into National Beta Club for my grades and averages in my classes, which mostly included advanced courses. I then completed the Early
I am currently studying Art at A-level and have had my work exhibited in a gallery and in local industry buildings as part of the 'Art in the Workplace' scheme which is organized by my college. The piece of my artwork which was displayed, and used in a business's workplace was a painting inspired by an Art Department trip to Italy. In my spare time, I enjoy running my own comedy website with my friends, which has enabled me to learn good organizational skills. Aside from art, I enjoy playing basketball with other students from my college every Wednesday afternoon. I have found this to be a welcome break from normal study, allowing me to exercise at the same time as relieving stress.

Work-based learning (WBL) as a method for learning is playing an increasing role in professional development and lifelong learning. There are lots of publications/articles available on Work-Based Learning, but the definitions and implementations vary from place to place. A Glass, K Higgins and A McGregor say that ‘Work based learning is any training that relates directly to the requirements of the jobs on offer in your organization’. This is one of the examples of WBL in the form of training. Work-based Learning is used as a terms in USA, for programs for school children to obtain experience from work (“Work-based Learning Guide 2002”). According to (Kathleen A. Paris and Sarah A. Mason) it gives a chance to young people to be prepared for the changeover from school to work and, to learn the realities of work and be prepared to make the right choice of work. In Europe (particularly in England, Scotland, Ireland) and in Australia available commendation is more focused on on-the-job preparation and on academic learning linked to work situations, Degree programs and negotiated learning programs.
According to the article "When Does Education Stop?" it stated that a young man interviewed the author, James Michener, and bellyaching about writing a three thousand words paper which is about James’ book. Because the young man sounded whimpering, James started to talk about his own experience of writing millions words paper. He mentioned that young people should realize that they have to put many efforts in order to achieve their goals. Also, men and women should know that they would face the difficult tasks before they success. Besides, no college can educate people with all they want, and all they need in the future. Although people study literature, logic or history probably have a fewer job opportunities, these fields actually have more wide job opportunities in the future. In addition, the schools are not a relax place. In stead of it, these schools are the places to train people. Therefore, if professors do not give many works for students to study, they should quit those professors or schools and seek others who have harsh teaching rules.

At any time in our lives, we have all encountered any number of professional environments. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the adult who has been in the workforce between 1978 and 2006 has held an average of 10.8 jobs (Bureau of Labor Statics, 2008). In such environments, one is bound to encounter both the most rewarding of working experiences, as well as difficult work experiences. In my history of different work environments, I grew more as an employee and had better relationships with my coworkers when I was in an environment that allowed and encouraged me to learn and solve problems, as opposed to in an environment that was rigid and did not foster any kind of personal growth .
Parental involvement in a student’s learning career can make the difference between a C student and an A student. This is not a very controversial idea. However, factors outside of the parents control often make it harder for them to become involved. Today I am writing to you; the parents of my students. I will be asking all of you to take an active role in your young one’s education. I understand that long work hours make it difficult to set aside extra time. But, it must be noted that any extra time you can make will be a huge difference.
