My name is JB. I’m eleven years old, and I live in a town called Witch Brooke. It’s named this because there’s an actual witch in our town, and I’m unlucky enough to have her house right across the street. It’s been years since anyone has seen her. Her name is Bathsheba. I’ve always been curious about what it looks like inside her house. That is why I’ve decided to break in and take a look inside. As soon as my parents fall asleep, I sneak out the back door and go to the witch’s house. I broke a window and climbed. The inside of the house smells like something is rotten.I look around at all the strange stuff. Then I noticed a book on an old dusty claw shaped rack. The book I found was about monster stories. I love monsters, so I took it
home. I sneak back to my house. I’m so excited that I open the book and the front cover said: DO NOT READ ALOUD! The book has hundreds of stories I have a hard time deciding what to read, so I pick the Aswang. The Aswang is about a creature who preys on unborn babies of pregnant animals. As soon as I finish the story, I fall asleep and have a nightmare I’m the Aswang and doing horrific things. I wake up covered in sweat and gasping for air. I’m so relieved it was just a bad dream. I rush downstairs to eat breakfast I find my mother watching the news. The reporter said, “Two pregnant dogs were attacked last night in Witch Brooke.” I listen in shock and realize it’s just like the story I read last night. The next night I read a story called El Cucuy. El Cucuy is the mexican Boogeyman. He hears children who are misbehaving and visits them at night to punish them. In the story the story the story the Boogeyman is holding a child in the air growling and shaking him. I’m awakened by the child's screams only to realize it was me who was screaming.
“Straining his eyes, he saw the lean figure of General Zaroff. Then... everything went dark. Maggie woke up in her bed. “Finally woke up from that nightmare. Man… I miss my brother. Who was that person that my brother wanted to kill?” she looks at the clock and its 9:15am “Crap I’m late for work!” Maggie got in her car and drove to the hospital for work.
Lily is thinking “how much older fourteen had made [her]. In the space of a few hours [she’d] become forty years old.” She makes this connection after she realizes that maybe her mother's death could have not been her fault and that it could have been T. Ray’s and he was punishing her for it. This caused Lily to pack “...5 pairs of shorts, tops, ... shampoo, toothpaste...” $38 and a map (41-42). By doing this, it made her feel like she had aged, feeling like a 40 year old.
The two children, age five and three, were telling their parents, about seeing a monster with red eyes outside the window, and consequently, they were very afraid. The parents couldn't believe the story, and always told them, not to worry, that probably was just a bad dream.
I am the wife of an innocent dead man. I raised three without a father. People see us as less. We are the Robinson, and me I’m Helen Robinson. Living in the deep south in the 1930’s wineries. The Depression affected most everyone in Maycomb except for us. All of the blacks in the county live in one area outside of the landfill. I lived on the edge of farm which grows acres of cotton every year. We were a poor family that sharecropped. There weren't many people in Maycomb who treated us kindly except for Mr. Link Deas and the Finches. One year the white trash family accused my Tom for a serious crime that he never did. For months we never saw him due to the polices never let blacks and women in. The Finches and neighbours came and helped during
The concept for this script, in its simplicity, was wildly creative and holds true to the popular phrase, “be careful what you wish for.” The writer really did a great job of keep the reader engaged in the narrative with the unpredictability of the wishes and the Josie’s escalated involvement with Stan’s character.
You wouldn’t believe everything that's been going for the past two weeks. Remember Betty Parris? She fell into a “sickness” but I heard that there's something darker to the story… witchcraft. . Eventually she woke up and started screaming some nonsense about wanting her mother, who’s been dead for what feels like ages now. That's how you know something sinister is afoot. The only thing that could calm her down was Rebecca Nurse. I don’t know about you, but I think that's pretty suspicious that out of all the people in town, only Goody Nurse could get some sense into the child. Rumor has it that she was caught flying over the Ingersoll’s barn the just a few nights ago. That's just the beginning of it..
In act I, we find out that John Proctor cheated on his wife Elizabeth with Abigail Williams. In the dialogue between Abigail and John, Abigail tries to seduce John, however he resists the temptation and tells Abigail that he never should have slept with her and he will never do it again. One of the worst choices I have made and I wish I could go back and change was when I told my mother that I wanted to go to the movies with some friends. What she didn’t know was that in addition to seeing my friends I was also planning to meet up with my secret “boyfriend.” The plans were canceled before my mom found out about my secret motivation; however, she was still very upset with me. I lost her trust for a long time: she was so upset with me.
I, Eliza Wishart am here today to respond to everyone’s confusion over my own house being alit on fire. Up until now I have felt no need at all to confirm or deny any of the accusations or rumours made. However, I am here today to clear my conscious and help the town of Corrigan understand what happened behind the scenes at the disastrous time my sister, Laura Wishart, was found dead and why my house was set a flame.
For this month’s book report I read a book called ‘Emer’s Ghost’ by Catherine Sefton. This book was about a girl named Emer who lives in Northern Ireland. She knows a man named Mr.Bannon who has a hidey-hole where he keeps things, and it is a very secret place. Emer finds a wooden doll that is old and worn, and noticed that there was something strange about the doll when she picked it up. That night when she went to sleep, she awoke only to find a ghost of a young girl. Emer was frightened but she wanted to help the girl. The girl disappeared and when Emer tried to tell her sister, Breige, she only laughed and made fun of Emer. The same thing happened a few days later. Emer’s other sister, Kathleen, wanted to go to the fortune teller, so Emer went along with her. When they arrived the fortune teller first told Kathleen’s future. Then when she got to tell Emer’s, all the fortune teller did was to look into Emer’s eyes for a very long time. Then the fortune teller gave Emer a drawing and asked her if it looked familiar. At this time Emer had never seen it before, so the fortune teller told her to keep it. Later on in the book, Emer sees the drawing on the window and wonders what it means. Kathleen’s friend was digging around a church that had been burned down a long time ago by the Vikings when they were looking for a chalice. Finally Emer sees the ghost again and sees the drawing. She finally knew what the drawing meant; it was a map of the hidey-hole! Emer and Breige go into the hidey hole and discover that the wall was where the roof of the hidey-hole had caved in. Emer and Breige frantically dug through the stones and crawled through to the other side, and then the wall collapsed. Emer was choking and thought she was going to die, but she was able to crawl out of the hole. She then realized that Breige was still in there, so she went and dug Breige out, but Breige wasn’t breathing! Finally Breige started breathing and Emer found the chalice. All of the town was happy and the ghost never bothered Emer again.
We need to pack up your room because you’re moving to another part of the hospital. Morris when you first came into the hospital I saw patients with your situation
It was late I thought. Almost midnight yet I was still unable to sleep. I stared thoughtlessly at the moving shadows mumbling to myself, "it was just a story" but in my heart I knew it wasn't, it was more than a story, much, much more. Then, a crow appeared in the middle of my room. The crow stared at me with such intensity that I fell backwards into the safety of my pillow. I stared at the crow in shock as it disappeared into my closet and that's when I heard it, a long piercing whine that was like a nail to a chalkboard. I prayed that it would go away, I prayed with all my heart but it stayed there continuing its long whine. It was then when I caught a glimpse of it. I saw two glowing bloodshot eyes stare at me. I let out a scream born from terror and almost immediately my dad came bursting into my room. He stared at me with confusion but all I could do was point a shaking finger at my closet door. Cautiously, my father marched into the closet door only to find nothing inside. Then, without warning, the closet door slammed shut along with my father still inside.
I pulled out a muffin from the cupboard, it seemed a little stale but it was all that was left for breakfast. After pouring myself a cup of coffee I walked out to my porch to get the paper, it was damp from the wet ground. Walking back inside I started to read the front page. Down on the bottom left hand corner there was an article about a women who had been murdered, it was Myrtle Wilson. There was a picture of her and her husband above
It was Christmas Eve. I sat, huddled in a ball, behind the armchair in my living room. I was trying to be as still and patient as I could be. I remember moments where I held my breath thinking if she heard me breathe, she would leave and I would never get a chance to see her. I could feel myself drifting off to sleep, but I tried to resist. All I wanted was to see her just once. Usually, I would be scared at the thought of a witch, but she was different. She was a magical witch who flew on a broom from house top to house top, visiting children and filling their shoes with candy and chocolates. Sure enough, I awoke the next morning to find myself still huddled in the same ball; I had fallen asleep before La Befana arrived. As I stood up yawning, I took a big stretch and noticed my Christmas shoes lying by my feet full of goodies.
He forces us into our first room. It appears to be a bedroom; and in the corner, on a small bed, sits a young girl clutching a teddy bear. She tells us of the boogeyman who visits her every night. All of a sudden, a bang comes from the door, drawing all of our attention to it. We turn back around and see the young girl being dragged under her bed. We all scream and push through the door. The next room contains dolls that move on their own and sing creepy nursery rhymes; and the room after that, is filled with shrunken heads that scream out names. As I leave the shrunken head room, I follow a dark path to a man with a red face and dreadlocks. In a husky, sinister voice, he tells me that I’m not supposed to be back here. I frantically tell him that I must be lost from my friends. He simply points to his left and remains silent. I follow his direction and wind up outside a black hallway. I see my friend in the dark red light and run to her side. I am about to explain where I have been, when a zombie bursts out of the wall, grabbing for us. We scream and run towards the end of the
It was around midnight in a pitch black, hollow, dreaded school with no way to get out. I was gallantly careering around the classrooms in the year of 2112, for my parents hated me. My father gave a punishment, and it was to clean the house. I repudiated to do it because it was filthy, and it was covered in complete garbage. As a result of that, my mother dropped me off 3 hours before in this dull school. I can’t slumber like an angel, for I’m terrified of ghosts and goblins swarming around this area. I gently sauntered to a classroom, and I saw something eerie glowing in the dark. I opened the door silently, and I just knew what it was when it hit my eyesight. “Hey! Boy! What are you doing around here in midnight?” Someone said.
