When you think of the woods and forest what do you think of? Mostly bears and other scary creatures roaming around, looking for something to feed on. That’s not how things are in the 100 acre woods. Yes, there is a bear but he is a friendly bear. His name is Winnie the Pooh and his best friend is a young boy named Christopher Robin. Pooh and Christopher have other friends in these woods that are all friendly as well, such as: Piglet, Rabbit, Eyeor, Owl, Kanga, and Roo. Automatically we portray the woods as a scary place but in Winnie the Pooh the 100 acre woods are a friendly and sweet place to live. Winnie is in a bit of a jam, or should I say honey. Pooh in pondering a way to get more honey from the bee hive in the tree above him. He starts to think, how can I get the honey from the bees buzzing around up there. At first he starts to climb the tree. He climbs and climbs and climbs and eventually he got high enough to a point that he stopped and stood on a branch. Then, the branch snaps and Pooh starts to fall. ““Oh, help!” said Pooh, as he dropped ten feet on the branch below him.”(Milne 31) He then continued to fall onto the next branch underneath him. Finally after bouncing and sliding down the rest of the tree he was on the ground. He was trying to think of another way to get the honey so the first person he thought of was Christopher Robin. Pooh came upon Christopher’s house. They say good morning to each other then Pooh asked Christopher of he had a ballon he could borrow and he did indeed have one. It was from the party he was at the previous day. Pooh had a choice between a blue or green ballon. He chose the blue one so that it would blend in with the sky. He then covered himself in mud and began to float up to the buzzing bees. Unfortunately there was no wind that day so Pooh was stuck in the air away from the honey.
