David.O.Osunde In the beginning,This story is mostly about a girl named Opal who wants her mom to come back, but later learns to accept that you can’t hold onto things that already went.

It all began when Opal rescues Winn-Dixie from the pound.Opal lied that Winn-Dixie was her dog.Opal takes Winn-Dixie home to convince her father to keep him.Since the preacher likes to help the less fortunate, he said yes.Winn-Dixie started helping Opal with her stress problems.

For example,Winn-Dixie helped Opal by going into a yard because Stevie Dewberry started teasing her.
Throughout the summer,Winn-Dixie helps her make friends.He also helped her get a job and learn a valuable lesson.
In the end,Opal’s new friends,have a B-B-Q.During that,Winn-Dixie disappears and Opal and her father start looking for him.After they found him under the bed,Opal learns that her mama is never coming back. …show more content…
