Eventually, in 1582 he married Anne Hathaway at the of eighteen, she was twenty-six. Whoa. Anne didn’t grow up in Stratford, she grew up in a village outside Stratford name Shottery. After they got married she moved to Stratford, spent the rest of her life there, and also was expecting their first baby girl, Susanna. Early 1585, Anne and William had twins! Awe, how cute is that? The twins names were Judith and Hamnet. Meanwhile Anne and the kids were staying in Stratford, William was in London working in the theater. No one knows when he moved there. “Some later observers have suggested that this separation and the couple’s relatively few children, were signs of a strained marriage, but we do not know that, either” (Mowat and Werstine). His son, Hamnet, died at the age of eleven and their oldest daughter married a Stratford doctor and had a baby girl named Elizabeth. Judith ended up marrying a vinter from Stratford, Thomas Quiney. Few months earlier Shakespeare died, the family thereafter died out, leaving nothing behind of Shakespeare. Indeed, nothing was really certain of Shakespeare’s activities years after Judith and Hamnet was born.
