Recommended: Freedom of speech in education

Have you ever thought that a rule shouldn’t be in place at your school? Well that’s what this is about. The current rule is that you can't threaten or pick fights over social media. I feel as if the rule is ridiculous because it controls your personal life. I think the rule should not be in place at all. I think they should focus on bullying and problems in school, instead of social media cause things can get confused and it’s not a big worry or problem that needs to be fixed.

The rule monitors what you do over social media and can get you in trouble at school. The flaw of that rule is that you need to be able to settle arguments and deal with problems on your own. If you don't learn how to do it yourself than you’ll never know how to do it when you grow up and when you're a man and have a family, you need to know how to settle arguments. Restricting what you can say over social media is gonna make the argument between the two worse. There gonna confront each other and that can start a fight and reduce the safety everyone around them has. The only part about it they shouldn't change is if there is a death threat or a shooting at the school threat, because that is very serious. They should focus on actual problems not fight words or name calling. Those aren't serious problems so instead of focusing on petty little problems they should worry about actual problems. This rule is very appropriate and can benefit and ensure more safety on everybody at the school.
