More than 76% of schools in the United States allow cell phones in the school and allow students to use them at their convenience. Cell phones can be used anywhere and anytime, including the school. Most schools don’t have a cell phone policy during classes, lunches, and locker breaks. I disagree with having cell phones in school because not everyone has a cell phone, students will get distracted from their work, and cell phones will have a higher probability of going off in class. Even though cell phones are great to use, they shouldn’t be used during school. First and foremost, not everyone has a cell phone. In other words, students that don’t have a cell phone have a higher chance of getting bullied. For example, my friend, Jade didn’t have a cell phone. In similar terms, students will text and play games on their phones during class. As an illustration, in math class we’re able to be on our phones in class. Usually I’m texting or listening to music, but it’s very distracting. As a result, I’m usually the last person to finish my work everyday. Furthermore, cell phones will have a higher probability of going off during class. A better explanation would be the phone will go off in class, which would interrupt class. To prove the point, during class when we’re able to be on our cell phones they go off more. Usually it results in the teacher taking the phone. It interrupts class and the students lose their phones, so no one wins. Although some believe it would save the school from buying computers, this is a fallacy. It is the school’s job to supply technology to students if it is used in the school. Although it would save the school money, it’s not the parent’s job to supply technology to students.
