Why was dropping the atomic bomb important to the war? First and most important reason is that it ended the war. Both bombs were damaging to the economy and status of the cities themselves. Many people that had no involvement lost their lives, which seemed to not be President Truman's intention but that is a byproduct of war. The lose of lives happens in war, but if it goes to the greater good many people would rather look at the outcome than look at how we got there. I believe the Manhattan Project and the creation of the atomic bombs were a good thing. I believe the drooping of the bombs were a good thing because they ended the war.

The Japanese Emperor Hirohito surrendered over the radio, this being the first time most of his citizens had head his voice.( World War II, 2017) This surrender successfully ended Japan's involvement in World War II.

Dropping the atomic bombs was a good idea because it ended the war a lot quicker than it would have if nuclear power was not used. Ending the war put a stop to the Japanese killing Americans, but dropping these bombs killed many innocent Japanese citizens in both Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The war was dragging on and the United States was not getting anywhere using guns and force. Nuclear war was the last resort and if it would end the war that is what the United States was going to use. My opinion is that the choice to use the bombs was the right
