Online Piracy ? Should people be prosecuted for online piracy? I believe people should not be prosecuted, but there should be a consequence. Most people wouldn't agree. Let’s say it was them in that position they would hate the fact that they’re getting prosecuted. There should be different types of consequences such as banning the specific website, people should get fined for stealing, or the website should at least change or take away some sort of thing from the downloadable content. Should the person doing the illegal download be arrested? I think a good idea would be changing some sort of part to the downloadable content. Taking away an important part of some sort could be something they can do to stop people from downloading. If it's a song they should change they lyrics somehow. Not only that but thinking about it the consequence on this could be that the downloadable content could be a shorter version of what that person wanted and they might not …show more content…

It'd be better if that was done because prosecuting someone for stealing over the internet would be pointless. They can just fine the person for taking something that doesn't belong to them. Maybe fining them based on what they stole and how big or important the downloadable is. Giving that person a fine would be like a ticket you don't pay them the consequences get even bigger. One last thing that would help would be banning the person from those specific websites would be something better they can do. Another thing they can do is just ban those type of websites completely. Getting rid of the most recent downloadables. Taking these kinds of websites would just end all illegal downloads or even stop others from taking credit from others. Taking these websites away would need specific reasoning, A good reason would be maybe that people are using it for illegal
