There are things that a lot of people don’t pay attention to in stories. When people read they don’t really pay attention to minor characters in the story because they think they are useless and can’t really do much in a story.. people don’t know that minor characters can make a major impact in the story and can turn the conclusion around. They act certain parts of the story which makes the story come together and to its resolution. They impact the story by changing how the main characters feel or acts throughout the story. A minor character that contributes a lot in this story is Sir Charles Baskerville, who is the head of the baskerville estate. Sir Charles was a superstition man, and was scared of the baskerville curse. Sir Charles was wealthy and also a well-known philanthropist. His plans to invest in the regions that were around the estate made it important that Sir Henry moved to the Baskerville hall to continue doing his uncle’s good work. His younger brother disappeared into south america after a bad event in England. Sir Charles was afraid by a dog that he thought was the Hound of Hell. He then died from a heart attack but it was actually his evil neighbor Mr.Stapleton which moved in and tried to get his money, feeling he was the one who was truly worthy of the estate. He then decided to use the story of the hound to scare henry,killing him and then getting the land. "There are no small parts, only small actors." Is this statement accurate? Minor characters, by simple definition, are characters who do not play a major role in a work of literature. However, every character serves a purpose. Simply because a character does not have many lines or appear in many scenes does not mean that he does not play a major part in the development of the plot. One such character is Borachio in William Shakespeare's Much Ado about Nothing. While Borachio appears in only six scenes, he is very important to the entire play. As a minor character, Borachio seems insignificant, but without his role in the play, there would be neither conflict nor a resolution.
