Teenage Cosmetic Surgery: Right or Wrong? Teen cosmetic surgery is very common in today’s society. The standards are set very high for teenagers of recent generations. Social media and celebrities have a large amount of blame for the percentage of teen plastic surgeries. Since the media has placed substantial pressure on the physical features of young women, teenage females today are bearing in mind treatments that could cause them possible harm in the future; therefore, young girls should be taught self-confidence at a young age. For starters, low self-confidence and insecurities play a big role in teen cosmetic surgery. Bailey Goodale shares her story on her plastic surgery. She admits that at her boyfriend Matthew’s formal three years back that she barely had any fun because she was too apprehensive about her weight and “uneven” breasts (“America’s Scary New Formal Trend” 1). Bailey’s formal was approaching quickly and she was dead set on looking perfect for her night.
