Law enforcement plays a huge role worldwide. They keep crime off the streets as much as they can, and make sure we are safe. They are a call away and they will come help you with whatever emergency or danger you’re in. This is why it is so important to respect law enforcement. No one like to be arrested, the first thing you want to do is be disrespectful because you are furious they are arresting you. You still have the respect law enforcement though because you could get more charges, they are just trying to help keep people safe, and respect is a main key to life.
Disrespecting is more than just saying cruel things, you can also disrespect by putting your hands on someone. I guarantee if you are to put your hands on a police officer they
The job of a law enforcement officer sometimes can be tough. Officer are sometimes plagued with situation that test their ability to enforce the law and maintain order. Police officers today face a constant battle to maintain higher ethical standards. This mission becomes tougher each day when one considers the importance of fighting terrorism, drugs, human trafficking,
No societal foundation links citizens so in depth to the government such as police. This limb of government defends against total chaos and maintains something such as the order of laws and due process in the democracy that is the United States is.
The main purpose of the police is to protection, and force should only be use to promote the safety of the community. The police have been charged with the one of the greatest responsibility in the world, and that is with safeguarding the domestic well being of the public. My father was a New York police officer for 20 years, and I know firsthand that this job is not an easy one. The polic...
Ethics is moral principles that govern a person 's or group 's behavior. Law enforcement should have good ethics that is what the community expects. There are many opinions about what are good ethics. Some ethics may or can even cause problems. For example protecting is a good ethic that law enforcement should obtain. If their is a man who is not on their five senses either on drugs or drunk carrying a lethal weapon, any firearm, device, instrument, material, or any other substance that is capable of producing great bodily harm or death from the manner it is used or intended to be used. The police morality is to protect in order to do that they may have to agriate the man to a certain extent. For me That is a good ethic or moral since i see protection for the people who were around this unstable man. On the other hand others see it as police brutality since the man was not conscious of what he was doing, so is this protecting behavior good or bad for our law enforcement. For me ethics is just a way for people to judge you on what kind of person you are. There is a problem with that because people judge on what they think is going on not on what the situation is encountering. For law enforcement ethics are codes that the choose to follow on their own not because they are being criticized, but because they want to. Law
Law enforcement is the first piece of the criminal justice system, and in my opinion the most important. Law enforcement includes uniformed officers, investigators, and support personnel. They are responsible for finding then capturing individuals who break the laws set by local, state, and federal government. Law enforcement is at the forefront of the entire criminal justice system. They enforce the law, investigate crimes, prevent crime, and ensure public safety. Uniformed officers and detectives must appear in the court system to testify then prove the individual guilty of the crime he was arrested for.
A Critical Assessment In defining police ethics, ethical policing and police ethics are not synonymous or interchangeable connotations to or for one another. Aside from establishing a police role independently from establishing any definition of ethics or police ethics, the semantics tend to complicate the defining process. Some of these complications include, but are not limited to, sociological aspects, psychological conditions, or philosophical reasoning. Examples of sociological complications include historical, political, cultural, or economic aspects. Some psychological examples include one’s ability to discern sociological implications from other implications; namely, the condition of post-traumatic stress disorder, hydrophobia, or even weary dreams. Lastly,
Law Enforcement is a person or agency responsible for enforcing the law. With this being said, many businesses can be an example of law enforcement. Law enforcement can be policeman, lawyers, or just anybody that has the right to enforce the law. We are given laws for safety, and to protect our rights as citizens. One would think everyone should respect and follow the laws given. Once upon a time in The United States, every citizen respected the laws, and our morals were upright. Through out the years, our morals, or ethics, changed. Law enforcements got stronger, figured out they are untouchable, resulting in going against the law, and going against our moral beliefs. Although law enforcement can be helpful to citizens, their roles of ethics
In most cases, law enforcement involves investigation of all forms of suspected, potential or actual criminal activities and presenting evidence arising from investigation to the courts for determination of criminal culpability and subsequent punishment. Law enforcement is also concerned with detaining criminal suspects pending further investigation or judicial action. These, however, are not the only responsibilities or functions of law enforcement. Law enforcement is also concerned with deterrence and prevention of crime as well as enforcement of all the orders given by the law courts such as writs or warrants. In addition, law enforcement play an important role in ensuring public safety, maintaining public order, operating c...
I have respect for the police, and the job they do. Policemen are a selected few who do a dangerous job. Police have done many great things to help improve communities, help people during their off duty hours and stand strong in face of many fears. The police trying to enforce the law are on the streets in all types of weather. Instead of being at home with their families on holidays they are working to keep peace. Everyday, they step out in a world where violence is considered appropriate.
This police activity is composed of difficult decisions and activities, which include the discretionary use of authority and prevention of crimes by a strong police presence. It also involves maintaining good relations within the community. Cops, at times, have to reach out to citizens to help them do their jobs. Examples include obtaining information in trying to solve a crime and helping to maintain order. About one month ago, we had some individuals come into the store and walk out with some expensive merchandise. The security cameras were unable to read the license plate on the car that they drove off in. Luckily they had work done on their vehicle in the automotive department, and when the police arrived to gather information about it, I was able to aid them in tracking them down because we had their license plate on file. If I am able to help law enforcement in any way, I do so. I know that working in law enforcement is challenging in this day in age, and the levels of trust are not where they should be, so whatever I can do to show other people that cops are there to help, I take advantage of the
Law Enforcement: Also called Police Officers. Police Officer perform a variety of public servant duties. They are “enforcers” of a city, town, or municipality’s laws, statues and ordinances. They detain and arrest violators of these laws. Police Officers issue summonses, regulate traffic,
In this case they act as role model to the society. Therefore their actions should be reasonable and that does not affect the rights and freedom of the citizens. Police officers enforces the law therefore they should be held to a higher standard so as to gain respect from the community. Ones the respect is established, a relationship is created and the community begins to cooperate and work with the police instead of against them. When the police officers are held at a higher standards, this keeps them on the right way.
They go out every day, putting their lives on the line so the rest of us can live with the knowledge that we are safe. They have no idea if the person they pull over for speeding has a warrant out for their arrest, and is prepared to do anything to avoid getting caught. Officers, agents, and others in the law enforcement community are people, just like you and me. People make mistakes every single day. Just because someone is wearing a badge does not mean they are perfect, but it does mean they must be held to a standard higher than most. Overall, however, members of law enforcement worldwide deserve our thanks, trust, and, above all, respect. The media, especially in America, almost never reports the good, just the bad. Cops do amazing, heroic, selfless things all the time, but all we hear about is when they make an error in judgement or procedure. People rely on and love law enforcement when they need them, but can easily demonize and criticize them at the drop of a hat. This is simply not fair, but it is sadly the truth. If it can be proven and shown that a member of law enforcement has abused their power, then they have the right to a fair trial and should face justice, the same rights afforded to all citizens, as guaranteed in the Constitution. We must be careful, though, to always remember the sacrifices, bravery, and humanity of every person who is willing to put their life on the line to protect the rest of
Disrespect comes in many forms and has many effects. Just remember that there are jerks
Police are described as the civil force of a local government mandated to prevent and detect crime and maintain public order. Police officers are tasked with making a number of decisions, and it is their duty to address illegal actions. (Klamh and Tillyer, 2010). Police are unique law enforcers, because their discipline is an excellent exemplary and the community is encouraged to be like them. Professionalism comes first before their personal interests despite the situation; therefore imagine a situation where an officer has to arrest one of his own parents for breaking the law. This is only one example of the numerous obstacles that officers might face while on
