Why Is Hiroshima Bombing Wrong

On August 6, 1945, a War was almost started. America tried to end a World War by bombing a city in Japan. America dropped an atomic bomb in the city of Hiroshima. It damaged a lot of land and killed thousands of people. There’s been disagreement regarding to their decision and I feel like it was wrong with the choices America made. It could have been another way besides ruing miles of land and killing thousands of people. The Americans did help defeat the Axis Powers and it did effect the people in the city of Hiroshima. It was a horrible thing to do, but it also was a good thing. There are many reasons on why the bombing was intended. To shorten the time of the war and to save the lives who were fighting in the war. A source of evidence is the book The Unforgettable Fire. This was a book that contained thousands of drawings and paintings of the people who were present in the bombing. The images from the book are accompanied by a verbal record of what they represent. …show more content…

John Berger states that, “there was a preparation, and there was an aftermath.” Which means there some ups and downs to this attack. He also stated that “the final included long, lingering deaths, radiation sickness, and many fatal illnesses.” This means that the chemicals from the bomb did all the damage to the innocent lives that were taken. This would also cause genetically effects on the generations yet unborn. Berger states that from given statistics “[He] can refrain from pointing out how reasonably small the atomic bomb dropped on Japan.” Since the bomb was statically small, America didn’t considered anything being wrong with the bomb being dropped on Hiroshima. America only calculated how much damage would be done to the Japanese government, instead of caring about the innocent lives that were took. Which means that America didn’t care about what it took to defeat the Japanese
