Although I have had some minor difficulties my first year as an undergraduate, I feel that I have worked extra strenuously in academics. I have done this in order to put myself in a position to succeed, and think that I would be a good fit for medical school. I have consistently improved my grades as well as contributed a 4.0 semester. Along with this, I believe that my present, as well as future studies, in Neuroscience will have granted me the opportunity to study what I love. My love of Neuroscience has also provided me with the opportunity to figure out what I want to do as a career, and that is to continue medicine as a career field. Vincent's Hospital in Billings, Montana where I received a volunteer of the year award and really enjoyed the time that I spent there helping the staff and patients. Along with this, I completed other tasks such as helping the electrical engineers, making beds, and helping out people in Outpatient care. These people were recovering from various injuries, surgeries, or were elderly and required some assistance with exercise-like tasks. I found that this was something I would enjoy doing as a career, and I feel like being a medical school student is important to me because this will help me to fulfill this idea. At this time, I found most of the medical field interesting, but I also had a curiosity of wanting to learn everything about the brain. In terms of Neuroscience, this field has been something I have always been innately interested in and a study that, again, I want to learn everything about. I feel that there will always be a demand for doctors, as the world we live in is constantly adapting and changing. Viruses will continue to evolve, genes will continue to produce occasional mutations that our cellular repair systems do not correct, and people may have some sort of health issue throughout their life. I think there would be joy in knowing that you have the medical experience to be able to assist them in their journeys to become well again. Also, going to medical school will provide an opportunity to understand the bond between a patient and their health care
