A benefit to playing a sport, like softball, is that one can learn to balance their grades and a sport. While playing a sport, it will get difficult to set aside time to do homework and work on projects. However, when one is involved in a school sport they have to maintain good grades to play on the team. This allows players to work their hardest in school and do their best in everything they do. In addition, “Sports require many aspects such as memorization, learning and repetition. These characteristics are used both on the field, and in the classroom. When playing a sport, a team works towards a goal; this is the same attribute as striving to get a good grade on a test” (“Benefits of Sports”). In the world of sports it started off that girls could never play sports and then in 1972 a public law called Title IX came to existence which allowed girls to play sports but not with boys. Today the question is asked should girls play on boys’ sports teams? One would think that girls should not play with boys on a sports team because boys are just naturally taller and stronger than women and they would dominate the girls in a fully contact sport. Another may think that if a girl is truly capable to play on an all boys’ sports team, then she should not be denied the opportunity to try out for an all boys’ team. Some other people may believe that sports at younger ages should remain co-ed because boys and girls body types are still similar, but once boys and girls are in high school sports should separate based on gender. Females and Males are equal but not in physical stature, having a girl on an all boys team will negatively change the dynamics/flow of a game, having the best girl player on an all boy’s team will hurt the girls’ sports teams. So sports should strictly stay separated between males and females.
Involving your child in sports is important part of growing up. There are several benefits to children playing sports. The child will learn how to make friends outside of school, church, and family. It will help develop self-esteem and physical skills. They discover what it means to be a member of a team, and how to win and lose with self-respect. Children also need to be active every day; exercise promotes growth and improves physical and emotional health. The Office of the Surgeon General states that active children are at less risk to high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease as well as many cancers (Office of the Surgeon General, January 11, 2007).

It gives students activities excluding school work, because teenagers generally focus their mind on unacceptable actions. Parents commonly show passion along with appreciation when their child/children play a sport. They get to have a closer relationship and be elaborate with them more often than normal. Frequently, students do not care about their reputation or acknowledge the adults’ opinions on themselves; but in my opinion, playing sports and being mostly involved with their schools presents an improved character while in school and once they graduate. Is this the world of females in sports? I think, in a world of sports, a woman should be allowed to play professional sports with men if she chooses to. Women that want to play sports might have a better chance, just because they are girls does not mean anything in terms of their ability to play. I feel that women should play sports because they can have a better chance at a college education. Female athletes receive more scholarships than men because they are smarter than men. Women have an advantage in competitions with other countries. Some women may have more strength than men do. Women can earn more scholarships than men. Women might like that sport, and they might have the strength and speed to play that sport.
