To most people, eating meat seems like a normal thing, like it is just another thing to eat, like rice, vegetables or fruits. Unfortunately for the animals, they are what most of the human race consume as food, meat consumption is not considered wrong or unethical… this is mostly due to a misinformed media. By eating meat, we are not only destroying the earth but millions of cows, sheep, chickens, pigs and fish are being mercilessly killed each day for human consumption. This practice uses countless resources that the human race could use for the betterment of mankind and it compels volunteer and protest groups to take action against it. A large number of people do not actually know where the animals that they eat live and how they are killed, these people think that cows are left to graze in large sections of green grassy farmland, in sunlight and fresh air, that chickens are allowed to roam free and only return to their coops when they need to lay eggs or to sleep. They imagine pigs rolling happily in the mud. They do not know that these types of farms only exist in books and movies. In reality, these types of farms hardly exist anymore. Instead, cows are forced to be artificially pregnant to produce more milk than would be naturally possible or murdered for meat. Pigs are held in small metal cages waiting in fear to be slaughtered, and hundreds of thousands of chickens are stuffed into one single barn. We call these living situations “Factory Farms”. If we think about it, this clearly shows that eating meat is NOT ethically right and something must be done about it, the first thing we must do is remove the factory farm system by taking away the demand for meat. To do this we must stop eating
