There has been lots controversies about juveniles and one of them is if a juvenile commits murder, should they get life in prison? Some people believe that juveniles who commit heinous crimes like murder should get life in prison while others believe that they should not. I agree with the idea that juveniles should get life in prison because of lots of reasons.

When a juvenile commits a heinous crime, they are not just hurting themselves and their family, they are also hurting the victim’s family. I agree that juveniles should get life in prison if they commit a heinous crime because they are hurting other people's love ones. In the article On punishment and teen killers by Jennifer Jenkins, published on Aug 2, 2011, says “there are no words adequate to describe what this kind of traumatic loss does to a victim’s family”. She is practically saying that these juveniles destroy other people’s families by them committing such a horrible crime. …show more content…

These juveniles do not know anything else but to harm others, and do not care about what happens to them. These juveniles with mental health problems should get help but they should not be in the public because if they committed a crime once then what makes you think they won’t do it again if they have mental health problems. In the article Greg Ousley is sorry for killing his parents. is that enough? by Scott Anderson published on July 19, 2012 points out that “i had been thinking about killing them every time i got mad”. This shows that he had mental problems because, how can someone be thinking about killing his parents every time he or she gets mad? That is taking things to the extreme. How can someone that thinks about killing someone else just because he or she is mad be out in the public. It is not just adults but also juveniles that think like this. Murder is murder and everyone should pay the same
