Who’s to blame for the Cold War? After WII, The U.S and The U.S.S.R were in a power struggle for control over over the countries the U.S.S.R took over during WII. Due to this power struggle a competition of strength was created between these two world powers. Some may say The U.S should have left USSR alone or The USSR should not have been as greedy. Overall, The U.S and The USSR are to blame for the Cold War because The U.S tried to manipulate themselves to a position of power after the war and they didn’t want Russia to continue their expansion. Compared to how The USSR was greedy in their attempts of world dominance and they refused to allow the U.S help states that were under communist control. The Cold war was The U.S’s fault because they were manipulative. This can be proven through a Telegram from Nilkolai Novikov( Soviet Ambassador), which conveys his belief that the U.S tried to manipulate their way to power by the end of the war so that they could control all post war actions. Joseph Stalin shows this in his election speech: The war proved the Soviet Social System is a genuinely people’s system, which grew up from the ranks of the people and enjoys their powerful support, that the Soviet Social System is fully viable and stable form of organization for society… Soviet Social System has proved to be more viable than non Soviet Social Systems”. In Stalin's speech he explains the point of view that The USSR has proved they can lead the world through how they helped win WWII and how their system is better than any other. Due to this belief this creates friction between them and the U.S because the U.S thinks Russia should not expand. Thus, showing the war was Russia’s fault because they wouldn’t keep to the countries they already took
