Humanity Exposed In Anthem, By Ayn Rand

In the novel Anthem by Ayn Rand you have a situation where most of humanity is recovering from a drastic disaster. If you were to research more about the trouble with the world today, you would understand that there has been major errors with only mankind to blame. Much of Anthem describes Earth, not a pretty sight from what I could picture. Being told to do everything as one or not using the word “I”, I’m sure that most people today wouldn’t agree on such a law. The way Anthem’s story line goes, you could tell that Earth had perished and human civilization was trying to be kept under control. You would be right, humanity did start from there, major separations were involved and overtime we became the way the world is know as today. It wasn’t so much to who had controlled but so much as how they ran what they controlled. I find it hard to believe that those humans haven’t tried to start an uprising, in fact they followed the system and did what the system told them. Much of the world is like that now, but if something doesn’t seem right the majority of humans would point it out. If Ayn Rand had wrote this book out of fear of it to happen one day, then she might have had the closest hypothesis I’ve ever heard. You can’t say that this isn’t to happen one day, to our knowledge it may have already happened and we’re continuing to change its ways. Maybe this book is just to draw attention, but I would doubt that someone would write a book so perfectly described the way the world might someday be. Some may find it scary to think that this is to happen sometime, but this book was written by someone who thought that this is where we might end up one day. Anthem also depicts where others would stand in such a crisis, and instead of one person who sees wrong in others way there
