“We serial killers are your sons, we are your husbands, we are everywhere” (Psychopath 1). Ted Bundy had said this in one of his many interviews, and it should be enough to convince anyone how messed up he was. He killed and raped many women because he wanted to pull off his sick fantasies, and he was able to get away with it for years before being caught. Ted Bundy was a clever, yet disturbing criminal.
Ted Bundy was born in Burlington, Vermont on November 24th, 1946. His childhood was not too traumatizing, but it was different from most people’s childhoods. He was born as the secret bastard child of his mother, she was too ashamed to raise him as her own. He was raised as his grandparents’ adopted son and was taught to believe his mother was his sister. The first time he escaped the prison, he was found six days after and taken back. The second time, he was sadly able to kill five women, and even abducted a 12-year old girl. The girl was never found and more women could have been killed, the five were the only ones that were confirmed to be killed by him. In his trial in 1979 he represented himself, most likely for attention and his own entertainment. He was sentenced to death row and was executed on the electric chair on January 24th, 1989 (Psychopath 4). It was a relief to many people that the notorious murderer was dead, and groups of people even cheered on the day of his execution.
Due to how many horrible and interesting things he did, Ted Bundy was a clever, yet disturbing criminal. His death was a relief to many, and people are still interested in his crimes today. His case still brings up questions though. How many other people, that were not found, did he kill? He had a content childhood, what drove him to do such sick and sadistic
