Chillingworth’s anger and want of revenge was getting too much for him; he decided to put some real action into play. Chillingworth had decided on the perfect plan. A plan to make Hester suffer the most. A plan to kidnap and take Pearl away from her. Chillingworth decided to kidnap Pearl and sell her to another country. After he got Pearl away from Hester he moved to phase two in his plan to destroy Hester. Phase two is to kill Dimmesdale, but make it look like a suicide. He is going to give Dimmesdale a poisonous drink in which he’ll make it look like Dimmesdale made the drink himself. After he created the perfect murder, he was going to write a note in which “Dimmesdale” blamed Hester for everything and the reason he killed himself. Once this note get shown to the public the people are going to hate Hester even more than before knowing that she is the reason that they have lost their favorite minister, Hester is so distraught she flees the town and goes off never to be heard from again. She had searched the grounds near the town for a long time until moving to neighboring places, until she had found nothing, no clues at all. Hester had given up on the blind search and had gone back to the source of the issue. She goes back to Boston in hopes of finding clues to get Pearl back. Hester searched for clues all around town, she was able to get around the town and in the houses of people without anyone even knowing she was back; it was just like she was a ghost. She had finally searched Chillingworth’s house and found something strange and postcard from Mexico with just the words “Thanks for P!” Hester finds this strange enough that she decided she needs to talk to Chillingworth about it, until she finds that he is already dead and she can’t get her
