Beowulf was more than a man. He was a king, a hero, a friend, a warrior. A legend who would not give into defeat and malice. Admired and looked upon by many. A belligerent bold man who lived to see smiles on his friends and fear in his foes faces. Seeing him in battle was an extraordinary sight, the way he moved with such agility, the smirk on his face after decapitating monsters. Beowulf fought for more than glorious gold. He fought to prove that the mighty Beowulf can overcome any task, any challenge, foe or obstacle in his path, for he was more than a man or ring-giver.
Beowulf always put others lives first. Our families were kept safe by this man for many years. Just as the Geats, the Danes will never forget Beowulf’s heroism. He followed the she-wolf down to her under water cave to kill her. After some time, many people gave up on the hope that Beowulf was alive. But Beowulf could not be defeated! After the fierce battle with Grendel’s mother, Beowulf came back to Hrothgar’s kingdom carrying the head of Grendel. The Danes were so pleased they threw a big party for him in Herot. Once Beowulf returned to our land he served as king of Geatland, no one else could ever be a better fit.
The day the fire breathing beast became a threat and started terrorizing the land was when Beowulf accepted the challenge to slay the dragon with his almighty light-of-battle. Despite his old age he could not bear to see his people suffer. Beowulf again proved to everyone how strong he is. He killed the dreadful dragon, by pulling out its heart with his bare hands. This was the last time Beowulf saw the sky-candle for he had lost far too much battle-sweat, having torn his arm just to reach the dragons heart giving his own life to save the precious people of
