John Wooden was born on October 14, 1910, in Hall, Indiana. He was raised on a farm and was a very hard work for a little bit of money. John Wooden in 1948 took the job of head coach at UCLA. During his time as head coach John Wooden taught his players how to be respectful and to be successful. As the head coach of UCLA’S basketball team UCLA went 664-162 in John Wooden’s 29-year college coaching career. Also as him as the head coach UCLA won 10 national championships. John Wooden’s legacy was seen as a man who was inspirational, motivational, and had words of wisdom for many players and people. Wooden was inspirational to many of his players and other people. During his time as head coach at UCLA he created the pyramid of success. The pyramid of success taught that for any player or person to be the best they can be. On the pyramid of success John Wooden said “ Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to become the best of which you are capable” (The Pyramid of Success).
