Kahlo was not able to conceive a baby, so the arrows which are crossing her heart and womb is a manifestation and representation of her infertility. Also, The Little Deer is an oil on masonite painting, and the surface of the painting is an effective tool to represent the vibrant colors, such as green, red, and brown, which are balanced. Additionally, it is relatively large at 30 x 22.4 cm. The antlers can illustrates the artist’s experiences throughout her life, and those episodes forms her as a human being; moreover, it depicts Kahlo’s wisdom. Kahlo’s eyes show melancholy, sadness and deception because she is in the middle of this environment that gives her the opportunity to know about paradise and reality at the same time. Although the stormy sky represents an unobtainable paradise that is there for her as an a possible exit, she can’t reach it; however, It illuminates her path. As Helga Prignitz indicates, “The piece of art is inspired by The Aeneid. The painting is not related to the ninth surgery of Frida Kahlo; on the contrary, It represents the mystical strength of the love that narrates Dido’s myth written by Virgil. Her mother had made her an easel to paint in bed, where she developed her skills of painting.
