For a very long time, literary critics have attempted to understand how writers constructed their writings. The answer lies in a complex literary theory called Structuralist theory. Structuralist theory can be defined as a theory that “looks at the bones of a text and how the author chooses to set up a story” (Kennedy, 2016). In “The A Team” by Ed Sheeran, it talks about how our experiences make us who we are and who we eventually become. I will be looking at his word choice and his use of figurative language which he used to communicate his message. The structure of “The A Team” by Ed Sheeran is very powerful.
