April Coppini is a modern artist who gathers inspiration from her natural surroundings. Coppini’s work exhibits a strong attention to detail, while still incorporating a sense of movement and expressiveness. I chose her as my inspiration because of what her bee drawings and some of my bird drawings have in common. They both have similar subject matters and a striking sense of movement. I aspire to show similar detail, movement, and techniques in my work. Coppini’s work shows lots of movement and expressive mark making. The line quality and techniques displayed in her drawings are exquisite. Black charcoal is her medium of choice, and she uses this material in a mix of subtractive and additive methods. Her work shows action and energy, while
Large and medium sizes of the forms dominate over small in the painting. The arrangement of the objects in this art piece is mostly centric. However, even though it is central, it is not symmetrical. The painter also touched the left edge of the burlap and the right bottom corner of it; this helps viewer’s eye to enter the painting smoothly, move around and escape from it. The asymmetry of the arrangement creates the sense of imbalance. Lam uses basic lines and shapes in the composition. Nevertheless, the painter creates wonderful light movement inside the figure with wavy shapes, which directs viewer’s eye from the top to the
Louise Bourgeois and Constantine Brancusi were both two artists that had very abstract pieces of art. Though the two artists had very different pieces of work they also shared a lot in common. Bourgeois and Constantine both had very visually dramatic styles of art that focused on sexuality and reproduction in forms of the human body. In this paper I will be talking about both artists backgrounds and works as well as what they share in similiarity and the underlying message of their work.
Beginning with the artist’s choice of compositional materials and painting technique. Pellegrini’s materials consist of oil and canvas. The artist’s choice of oil allows for a fluid and condensed stoke of paint. The brush strokes are broad and soft as they conform to the shape of the clouds or contours bodies creating direction and flow. The paint strokes are uniformed in size and circular shape. The paint is not impasto but instead smooth and brushed flatly on the canvas.
The purpose of this Essay is to discuss an example of design from the late 1800s, I will relate it to the social, economic, technical and cultural context of that time. . I intend on delivering details of the artist and his life experiences as well as his style and possible interests. I will also evaluate the subject with my own opinion, likes and dislikes, with comparisons of work and artists from within that period up to the present date
1. and has recently been sold at an auction in November for $44,405,000 million, which was three times the previous world record for any female artist. This is a very beautiful painting of a flower that is fully blossomed. Its got white, green, and blue in it. The flower is the center and focus point of this piece of work. The painting looks like a viewpoint from the top of the flower looking down at it. It looks to have four green leafs on each side of the flower. It looks like the sky is in the background with clouds. It’s a very simply and peaceful painting of a gorgeous flower. I like the green in the middle of the flower, how the pedals are green kind of go out the side of the pedals, and forms a spiral. The leafs got a nice dark green to them and detail with them. The leafs look so real are absolutely

“ The paintings of Filippo Lippi are frequently characterized by two features: an interest in minimizing the divide between world, image and the presence of humor, both bodily and representational. Although these two aspects of Lippi's art might initially seem unconnected, this paper suggests that both can be associated with the use of scientific perspective. Lippi's spatial concerns can be understood as a reaction to the distancing of the iconic image that accompanied the invention of perspective.”
This essay will compare and contrast the work of two sculptors who use the human form as a basis of their artwork. The first sculpture “Apollo and Daphne” by Gian Lorenzo Bernini was created in 1622 and portrays a Romanian story. Where as “Two Women” by Ron Mueck is a hyper realistic sculpture made by an Australian contemporary artist.
It appears to me that pictures have been over-valued; held up by a blind admiration as ideal things, and almost as standards by which nature is to be judged rather than the reverse; and this false estimate has been sanctioned by the extravagant epithets that have been applied to painters, and "the divine," "the inspired," and so forth. Yet in reality, what are the most sublime productions of the pencil but selections of some of the forms of nature, and copies of a few of her evanescent effects, and this is the result, not of inspiration, but of long and patient study, under the instruction of much good sense…
Comparing different works of art from one artist can help a person gain a better understanding of an artist and the purpose of their artwork. An artist’s works of art usually have similarities as well as differences when compared together. Sandy Skoglund is a photographer that stages entire rooms to create a scene for her photographs. Skoglund uses painting, sculpture, and photography to create her artwork. Due to the fact that most of her photographs are created in similar ways, almost all of her photographs have similar components represented throughout the photographs. Differences can be found in her artwork as well. Skoglund’s Revenge of The Goldfish, 1981 (Figure 1), is a popular work of art that is represented at the Akron Art Museum
Through his “choreographed” letters, Massoudy gives physical form to emotions and ideas. For example, in his work “I love a flower that is slow to blossom,” (See Figure 2) he shapes the word “flower” with curves that resemble petals. The word “flower” is repeatedly written in green ink to form a leaf, or a garden speckled with red and yellow flowers. The quote written out in a straight line evokes the image of a stem.

This painting has deviated from the standard Renaissance model in that it goes beyond depicting subjects and scene, and employs exaggerated form, color emphasis, abnormal planar depiction, and visual directionality. The aspects of this painting have become the embodiment of the story told and the characters there held. The artist has used various techniques of color, line, and juxtaposition in order to portray an idea which supersedes the sum of its parts, and thereby leads the viewer through a thought.
