Social problems are a central part of social life. The term of “social problem” refers to social conditions, processes and attitudes that are commonly percieved to be negative and undesirable (Jamrozik & Nocella,1998). A social problem is an issue that can bring something negatives on the values of society such as law and order, social structure and the stability of social institutions. Social problem cases keep increasing every year and many people worry about this because this issue will stop us from producing a good generation for our country. What then makes a social problem? Is it parent mistake or individual mistake?. In a process of becoming an adult, children loves to imitate their parents behaviour as every knowledge start from home. According to Anderson,2002 “as children shape their behaviour and values, they may look the heroes and role models for guidance”. Negative examples such as parents who indulge in alcohol and drug abuse can give harm to child’s development and lead to social problems. Therefore, it is very important for parents to become a good role models for their children as children will easily influenced with their attitude. Teenagers very much prefer to spend their time with their friends instead of their family members. This is because they think that their friends understand them more than their own parents and siblings. Parents are too focused on their job and did not perform their duty well. The shaping occurs as family members always interact with each other every day(Davey & Paolucci, 1980). Parents should spend their time with their children because this will help in strengthening the bond between the child and his parents; making their children to trust them more than they trust their

In today’s society, criminal justice professionals contribute their services to a variety of social issues. A social issue is defined as society’s perception of one’s personal life, also known as a social problem or a social situation. Professionals with our criminal justice system enforce laws, promote good community relations, and are in charge of people’s safety. Three social issues affecting our criminal justice system are being addressed with examples; sex offenses, drug abuse, and hate crimes. There is a wide scope of social issues, yet these three have been chosen to inform one of what they are, how the laws apply, and the impact they have within society.
Over the course of this semester, among all the different perspectives, two that stayed on my mind the most are the social problems perspective and the social responsibility perspective. While both of these perspectives are similar in that they both cover theories about crimes, they differ greatly in the way in which each suggests crime occurs. The social problems perspective provides that people are not actually responsible for their actions, but rather that their actions were the result of a failure of society to prevent the problem. For example, towns often create after-school programs to help keep children off the streets and out of trouble. However, towns that do not have such after-school programs often report higher rates of teenage crime as well as unattended children. Children are naturally curious and even mischievous. After-school programs that help to keep the children busy and involved in activities report to have lower occurrences of vandalism and gang activity.
While reading over the guidelines for this essay, I wondered what exactly was meant by a social problem. I wasn't sure if it just meant a problem societies face as a whole or if there was some other terminology behind it, so I looked up social problems as a term. There are certain characteristics of parents who influence their children’s moral behavior. The first characteristic are warm and supportive parents, parents who also involve their children in family decisions, parents who models morally thinking and behavior, and finally parents who inform their children of what behaviors are acceptable, expected and reasoning behind. An example of these parents’ characteristics’ can be when a child is upset because their sibling has taken their toy from them. A parent with the above characteristics will talk to the children on their level, ask open-ended questions, and talk about solutions for their issue. The parent will also voice own opinion on what is the acceptable thing to do, and explain why that is. These four characteristics are sort of strategies’ that are excellent for parents to utilize in order to foster their children’s moral development. Parents who are warm and supportive tend to have a secure attachment to their children which is the base for creating a positive parent-child relationship, without that, parents cannot model behavior to the child, as the child will not trust in the parent. Throughout United States history, power of the upper class has been maintained by assigning “different” people a lower, less desirable, place in society, predisposing them to social inequalities. Social stratification creates a system of social classes in which people born into a specific class have different “life chances” (Macionis 28). These classes are somewhat maintained by the fact that people tend to “take care of their own,” meaning that members of the upper class generally favor other members of the upper class and offer opportunities for advancement in society to those they feel most similar to (Doran). People from lower socioeconomic classes generally experience less life opportunity, have increased poverty and therefore have increased health issues, increased crime, decreased education, and decreased job opportunities (Macionis 38-39) These people are also often politically alienated, and therefore also lack the appropriate government influences to change their current status (Macionis 39).
Previously the father’s role was to work and earn money as the primary source of support for the family, while mothers took care of the family by managing the household. The father teaches his children courage and self-confidence while the mother carries over the sense of tenderness to them. Both of them are role models for their children. In conclusion, the impact of the mentioned problems can be reduced by raising wariness and educating people. Ordinary people are one of the elements in the solution of these people as they can as they can affect the success of any solution. In addition, encouraging the public to help each other in tacking these problems would lead to a fraternal and cooperative society. There is a national concern toward these problems. Therefore, tackling the roots of these issues should be on the government’s priorities.
In America, the society runs on what teenagers want. From Nicki Minaj to the junior section at Sears, most of what the people see, hear, or touch is aimed at the teenagers. Being an adolescent is probably the most exciting and most popular time period in a person’s life. The teens seem to have it all, but what about the parents who raise them? The parents of the teenagers never get any credit during this time period, although they have every right to. Parents and teenagers should strive for a strong, lasting relationship for these years, though most times there isn’t one. The relationship between teenagers and parents is the most vital bond in the family because this relationship should and will prepare them for the next step in life.
Is Mcdonaldization Inevitable? George Ritzer’s, Mcdonaldization of Society, is a critical analysis of the impact on social structural change on human interaction and identity. According to Ritzer, Mcdonaldization “is the process by which the principles of the fast-food restaurant are coming to dominate more and more sectors of American society as well as rest of the world” (Ritzer, 1). Ritzer focuses on four foundations of Mcdonaldization: efficiency, calculability, predictability, and control. These are the commandments of any rationalized corporation. However, they are not carried out from the point of view of the consumer. Efficiency, for example, may entail the placing of great inconveniences upon a consumer for the sake of efficient management. Calculability may involve hiding certain information from the consumer. Predictability and control may involve a company's ability to predict and control consumer behavior, not the consumer's ability to predict what kind of product or control what kind of service he gets. Ritzer calls such breakdowns "the irrationality of rationalization." Ritzer points out the irrationality of rationality, as all of the supposed benefits of Mcdonaldized systems backfire: waiting in long lines, suspect quality, little or no customer service, little or no customer service, the illusion of large quantities for low prices, and severely limited selection of choice. Throughout Mcdonaldization of Society, Ritzer describes Mcdonaldization as largely negative and often destructive. While Mcdonaldization is rapidly taking over American society and spreading to the rest of the globe, it is not something unjustly imposed on the American people. The consumerist culture of America has groomed the public to seek efficiency, calculability, predictability, and control. These principles grow in importance and value in contemporary America. Even when given the choice to avoid a Mcdonaldized establishment or product, people will flock to it. I agree with Ritzer’s analysis of a Mcdonaldized society, but I feel that Ritzer has failed to provide any real solutions to the Mcdonaldization process. I will support Ritzer’s analysis of the Mcdonaldization process, but also show that it is inevitable and essential in the American society to have a rationalized system. These article are about parenting roles and the effect it has on raising our children and the development of a child. In fact, the author research has revealed that different parenting skills can influence a child’s social, cognitive, and psychological growth, which affects children both in the childhood years, and as an adult. The reason being is that children develop through a falling and the parent not rushing to make sure the child is okay this let the child know they will fall and it will hurt for a little while but it they are okay. A social problem has many definitions. One way to define is that is a social condition/issue which has negative effects on an individual, our social and our physical world. A social problem does not have to be experienced by every individual to be called a problem, it comes from acknowledging that the problem exists and that a particular social condition affects a greater percentage of the population. We as sociologists and psychologists need to be able to face the one-sided reality of a social condition and need to address it as a social problem.
