As mankind continues to develop, wealth has become a growing factor towards the epitome of being successful. While each person has their own interpretation of a successful life, there is no denying that a luxurious individual is most likely to be presumed to have achieved an accomplished life. Although at this age when the quantity of money may define a fruitful life, does wealth truly determine whether a person has succeeded in life? Known as “the first lady of civil rights”, Rosa Parks had made a mark on the world as an activist in the civil rights movement and became a symbol as well as an icon of resistance to racial segregation. Such achievements, with no hesitation, has forged an understanding that Rosa Parks was seen as a successful person who had open the minds of many people to one of the most problematic predicament that the world had face back in the days. One of the most important aspects of a successful life is the type of career that an individual chooses. Different career determines one’s measurement of success and goals in life. For example, a scientist’s greatest purpose is to do researches in order to prove their theory and change the course of history with their new discovery. Representative Conyers once boasted, ‘“Rosa was a true giant of the civil rights movement. . . Her bravery, fortitude and perseverance in the face of discrimination served as the very touchstone of the civil rights movement”’ (Boyd, 2005 p. 43). Rosa Parks grew up during a time when the color of a person’s skin defined who they were and how they were treated. Parks had no intention of becoming the “Mother of the Civil Rights Movement,” she was just an ordinary, common, every-day seamstress (Boyd, 2005 p. 42). But Parks was an honorable woman who stood up and fought for civil rights for African Americans.
Rosa Parks, also called the “Mother of the Civil Rights Movement,” was given the NAACP's Spingarn Medal and the Martin Luther King, Jr. nonviolent-peace prize. Rosa Parks was also awarded the Eleanor Roosevelt Woman of Courage award in 1984. Rosa’s influence and impact on the society is one that can never be replaced. Analyzing career theory is an important task, not only as an individual but also on a large scale. If everyone has the career they are best at and enjoy above all others, the world would be a much happier place. Imagine a world where each individual viewed work as not something they have to do, but as something they want to do. Productivity would increase at all levels. Charitable foundations and businesses would be abundant. Whereas this ideal may not be fathomable at this point, if each person used this information, it would be only a matter of time before we are moving in that harmonious direction.
Throughout the African American civil rights movement opportunities were sought to spark a chance at improving conditions in the south. Rosa Parks refusing to give up her seat on the Montgomery, Alabama bus was the fire to that spark. Rosa, standing up for herself something anyone person in today’s world would do, was arrested and put in jail. While Rosa was in jail she caught the eye of many people in the Civil Rights Movement, including the leaders. The Civil Rights leaders protested her arrest and hired lawyers to aid her in her trial. Although she was found guilty and was fined fourteen dollars for the cost of the court case, which lasted on thirty minutes, she wasn’t done yet. Rosa Parks has affected the society we live in today in many ways, she is the most influential person the black community has ever seen.

And life is no longer good but just what you happen to be holding” (Doctorow 124). Success, some may say, is measured by the wealth and possessions acquired in one’s life. However, others disagree and say success is measured by the happiness and moral soundness instead.
Money Money money money… There are hundreds of songs about it, there are references to it in thousands of movies, there are annoying advertisements telling you what you should spend your money on, and then there’s advertisements telling you that you need someone else to manage your money. We work hard for the money that we have, we stress over not ever having enough and we lose sleep over it. However money can also bring us a sense of security and comfort and it can help us sleep at night. Money is such a consumable part of many people’s lives. Whether you have money or not, people always feel like they need more, people are always wanting more.
'One has achieved success who has lived well and laughed often.'; This quote seems to sum up what is meant by success. If you are able to laugh often and much then you have definitely achieved happiness. The idea of living well, though, is a very broad statement. In order, then, to define success in relation to this statement, we must first define what it means to live well. There are three levels of success, in my opinion: societal success, personal success, and academic or professional success. If someone can achieve all of these three levels of success, they are someone who has lived well.
When none of us has ever come across such words and formulas, none of the great personalities has ever mentioned it, then who the hell has instilled it in our minds that money brings happiness. But among this debate one question still raises its head - What is happiness? Happiness is not actually leading a luxurious life but the luxury of living a life. Happiness is not actually about expanding your business, but it lies in expanding the horizons of life. Happiness is not having a meal in the most famous restaurant but to have it with your most beloved family. It does not lie in attending honorable parties but to attend a party with honor.
Success is within the mind of the individual. A large portion of ones life is spent working to become successful. People are told throughout childhood to work hard so they can grow up and make lots of money. But success takes many different forms. Different people have different interpretations of what success means to them. For some, success is measured by social status and wealth; for others success is determined only by the amount of happiness one feels.
Ever since the times of the BC era, wealth had defined success (Definition of Success). A wealthy person of those times would be looked at as a superior being, they would be someone you’d show respect for. They were successful. Although that's the definition of success back then, does it mean something different now? Like every human being, and every past structure of society, the word evolves with time because society's’ values change. The definition of the word “success” was often considered as the achievement of wealth, but now it has become modernized to fit into today's society. Today, success is thought as an individual doing what makes them happy in life, generally doing their best, or even contributing positive things to the world to make it a better place (What does success mean).
Success takes many different definitions. People have different interpretations of what success really means. For me is as simple as: living well and laughing often. The idea of living well is a very broad statement. Living well, in my opinion is getting success in personal, social and professional life. If I can achieve all of these three levels of success, I believe that I have lived well.
Is there anyone in this world who does not want to be rich? The first thing that crosses the people’s mind while choosing job is money. Money plays a vital role in one's life and most of the people are motivated to perform well in their jobs for money. Money is the reason what drives people to work better. In most cases, money greatly works. People are motivated to perform better by receiving monetary incentives like wages, salaries, allowances, bonuses, retirement benefits, etc. But, money doesnot always contribute in influencing people towards the work. This essay will discuss the arguments that are both for and against money being the key motivator and suggest that money is not always the best motivator.

For the majority of people in our modern-capitalist world, money is the first thing, and sometimes the only thing that measures success in life. Money can buy power. Money can buy fame. Money can buy time. Sometimes money can even buy a life. So money has become the first common goal for everybody. There are many different perspectives, and how people view the world, in terms of success, and money. Money is not the root of all evil, but the love of money is the root of all evil.
