As mankind continues to develop, wealth has become a growing factor towards the epitome of being successful. While each person has their own interpretation of a successful life, there is no denying that a luxurious individual is most likely to be presumed to have achieved an accomplished life. Although at this age when the quantity of money may define a fruitful life, does wealth truly determine whether a person has succeeded in life? Known as “the first lady of civil rights”, Rosa Parks had made a mark on the world as an activist in the civil rights movement and became a symbol as well as an icon of resistance to racial segregation. Such achievements, with no hesitation, has forged an understanding that Rosa Parks was seen as a successful person who had open the minds of many people to one of the most problematic predicament that the world had face back in the days. One of the most important aspects of a successful life is the type of career that an individual chooses. Different career determines one’s measurement of success and goals in life. For example, a scientist’s greatest purpose is to do researches in order to prove their theory and change the course of history with their new discovery. An athlete’s succession depends on their achievement in sports competition such as breaking a record and qualifying in the big league tournaments like the Olympics. A musician’s succession is proven by the number of CDs sold, invitations to big events and the acknowledgement of other excellent musicians throughout the world. A writer’s succession is certified when one of their books obtain a spot in the best-selling and is admitted by the public as a classic.
