In the story the great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, a mysterious character by the name of “Jay Gatsby” throws extravagant, exotic parties in hopes of having his love, Daisy, show up. In the end, Gatsby takes the blame for a horrible murder because of his love for Daisy. As a result, George Wilson kills him because he thought that he was the lover of his wife, and her killer. As the titled, and the most interesting character, Jay Gatsby was most greatly impacted by the events throughout the book because of his tragic love for Daisy and the control this love had over his life. Though every one of his other “dreams” came true, Gatsby could never fully possess Daisy. Also, he learned that a person cannot be someone else just by pretending to do so. Gatsby had a lot of other dreams other than Daisy, and he worked hard for every single one of his dreams and most of them came true, although Gatsby could never fully possess Daisy, but, Jay Gatsby learned that you can’t buy everything you want in the world, no matter how ambitious a person …show more content…

Gatsby spent most of his life on Daisy, putting her in charge of his life, with that, Gatsby learned that you can’t buy happiness or love no matter how hard you work or how ambitious you are are. Gatsby also learned by chasing Daisy around, that a person cannot be someone else just by pretending to do so, and they will eventually find out. You may be wondering, “Why should I even read this book?” I actually learned a few things from this book that i can relate to.the First thing I learned is that you can’t let one person control all of your decisions and let them have a handle over your life. The second thing i learned is that you shouldn’t care as much about what people think about you, and not lie and try to live through a life that you aren’t
