Like human trafficking, child soldiers are a big problem. Both deal with situations of kids being abducted, and kids being tricked into situations. Also, both kinds of victims, without proper care could later turn around and do the same thing to future children. Though child soldiers are not directly responsible for what they have done previously, they will be responsible for something they do in the future because of their past experiences. Child soldiers should be prosecuted because the the child knows what they are doing, they can be rehabilitated through prosecution, and if we don't prosecute more they will be kidnapped and used for bad purposes. This is because the leaders of major rebel fighting groups know that child soldiers do not get prosecuted. With this information they not only “recruit” new child soldiers, but they send the existing child soldiers into the more violent situations (Suivre.). We could reduce the number of occurrences of situations like this by persecuting the child soldiers. Some people would say they should not be prosecuted by arguing the point that they do not know that what they are doing is wrong. However, like I said before, based on a study carried out by Yale, children, even ones who are really young, know the difference between right and wrong (Drumbl, Mark.) From this information we can make the assumption they are forced into doing the acts. Because of this, they need to be rehabilitated to let them come to the realization that they are not being forced to do these heinous acts anymore. In the end, child soldiers should be prosecuted. This is because the children know what they are doing, they can be rehabilitated through prosecution, and if we don't prosecute more will be kidnapped and used for bad purposes.
