The world watched Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson crash hundreds of parties in the film Wedding Crashers. For some, it was a just another entertaining cinematic adventure. However, for others, it was an inspiration to crash an event by stepping into someone else’s shoes and taking on a whole new identity. Crashing parties has been a part of life for quite some time. Every day some 18 year old tries and fails to enter the 21 and up bar. Two people took the idea of crashing parties and events very seriously; they’ve made a business out of it. 100 people showed up at the unsuspecting Waldorf Astoria hotel for a private scavenger hunt. They were dressed in formal business attire with nametags. 19 small teams were given tasks to complete during their adventure inside the hotel. For example, one took a picture with a guest while wearing their bathrobe; another ripped their clothes off and took a warm bubble bath in a temporarily vacant room. Among the planned activities, the final goal of the night remains unchanged. The 80 or so people that stuck it out until the end made travel to the roof for a secret show complete with a burlesque-dancing opera singer, an accordionist, and an upright bassist. The show overlooked New York City, the perfect way to complete an adventure. Who are the masterminds behind an event such as this? N.D Austin and Ida Benedetto.
