Being honorable is bringing or worth of honor. Being honorable to me means that you left a mark on the world about what you did or you have something in the world that has a remembrance for you. Anders Celsius was born on November 27,1701 in Uppsala, Sweden. Celsius was raised a Lutheran. His father was an astronomy professor. He completed school in his hometown Uppsala. In school Anders Celsius showed extraordinary talent in his mathematical skills. He studied at Uppsala University just like his father had done.He joined as a professor of astronomy in 1730. Celsius took contribute in building the Uppsala Astronomical Observatory in 1740. It is the oldest astronomical observatory in Sweden. The expedition was to Lapland (northern part of Sweden). In 1744 Newton's theory about the flattening of the earth at its poles was confirmed after all the measurements had been taken.Even though the expedition only lasted a year Celsius got many great measures. After the expedition Anders Celsius returned home to Uppsala,Sweden. Celsius is considered to be the first astronomer to analyze the earth's magnetic field. He analyzed this at the time he analyzed the norther light and he assessed the brightness of the stars with his measuring tools. At the observatory Celsius favored the work of the temperature scale. The scale of a mercury thermometer at an air pressure of 760 mm of mercury into 100 degrees celsius. This is where 100 was taken as the freezing point of 0. By favoring the temperature scale celsius started making observations. As a result of his testing he came up with the centigrade scale. His thoughts about the measuring environment and methods was thought to be compared to Gabriel Daniel Fahrenheit and Rene- Antoine Ferchault de Reaumur.
