This paper explores the self-proclaimed pharmacy in all of North America, known as Walgreens. This paper will go over what made Walgreens the top pharmacy by diving into How technology has helped and improved the company as a whole, the development of the company 3 years prior to 2016 as well as the SWOT (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities & Threats) analysis of the company. Walgreens in the beginning was just an ordinary neighborhood pharmacy that provided goods like first aid, cosmetics, health aid, etc. This huge corporation was by a guy named Charles R. Walgreen, in a town called Dixon just right outside of Chicago. Walgreen made it an effort to provide outstanding customer service in addition to making sure the customers need come before all, moreover he wanted to create products and services within the company that would serve as a benefit to not only customers but his employees as well, this is a trend that's still going strong to this day.

Unlike its competitor ‘Rite aid’ who offers a very convenient loyalty system that can be used at Macy’s, at&at, Balance Rewards is exclusive to only Walgreens and Duane Reade. I know what the Walgreens company was going for, but I feel extending their service to give their customers more chances to gain points and sale opportunities. Opportunities: Walgreens offers a lot of opportunities to move in the company, for an example great pay and benefits, more chances to give back to the community. A typical Walgreens employees receives opportunities all the time, weather that be a pay raise or a promotion.
