Visual transition scene: A sound effect was used in the restaurant scene between Tiffany and Pat. After Tiffany walked out she start accusing Pat of harassment. Some people begin to look at Pat with disgust and start flicking him off with their finger. Ambient noises from the cop car were used to describe the tension during the scene. During the "Fell in love with a Girl" scene his shirt comes totally out. Pat shirt was tucked in again. Continuity errors: In the scene where Tiffany attempting to put a full length tie on Pat for the dance competition. Pat's collar is up and down inconsistently Continuity mistake: Bardely Cooper wears a necklace. While rehearsing a dance sequence with Jennifer Lawrence the necklace is alternately hanging on his chest then back, indiscriminately between curbs. Continuity Mistake: When Bradley and Jennifer arrive at the dance competition they end up holding hands together. As they make their way upstairs to register, Bradely is on the left of the picture, but as the scene cuts (in real time) from them starting up the stairs to getting to the top, they have switched sides. Then, very briefly, when Jennifer goes to use the restroom, they have switched back again. Sound as we discuss in our discussion question section, sound plays a significant role in every scene, it helps the audience in many ways such as to know the audience what is going to happen or to get the into the character. Now on days many directors increase realism brought on by sound inevitable forced acting styles to become more natural the scene can be identifying a digetic sound. Many people may think that the sound effect that a director use in a movie, novella or documentary is the same, they are totally confused, its two types of sound such as digetic sound and non digetic sound
This scene takes place at Ronnie’s house when both Pat and Tiffany are invited to have dinner with them. There is no dialogue in this scene since Pat is trying to figure her out by carefully looking at everything on her including her makeup, hair and dress. (24:35)

I have all A’s, well except for Algebra, but grades aren’t the only thing that intelligence is based on, right? Growing up with my mother being a painter and my father being a graphic designer I originate from a very artistic family. I express my creativity in many diverse ways. I fancy writing, photography, and decorating my room in my own style. Most of all I think I am highly creative when it comes to the way I dress. Fashion has always been a tremendous part of my life, that’s why that moving to New York City and working in the fashion industry is my green light. The color purple is a mix of blue and red, like the mixture of excitement and calmness, which overall describes me.
Pat wrote letters to his wife and in turn, Tiffany delivered them. We later find out that Tiffany was the one all along writing back to Pat and that she had fallen in love with him. Directly following the dance competition, Pat meets his wife once again, but this time things are just not the same. After noticing Pat’s uncontrollable anger and mood swings, he was diagnosed with bipolar.
Pat, when in a depressive mood swing, suffers anxiety of being forgotten, lonely and betrayed (Martinez, 2004). The stress of knowing he has this anxiety also can create more anxiety and stress (Martinez, 2004). The treatment in the movie he receives is therapy and medication, however cognitive therapy would mostly help him more in the long wrong (Comer, 2014). He needs to process the stress and anxiety and emotion in order to recover and progress forward and not be caught in the past (Comer, 2014). Pat must face his dysfunctional thoughts and work through them. Tiffany is stressed through her unprocessed feeling and is then anxious when it comes time to face her real thoughts and emotions. This stress causes her to have anxiety toward anything having to do with relationships because it relates back to her unresolved feelings with her late husband. She is avoiding this. In order to process these emotions, she will need to probably need to go through some exposure therapy (Bonanno, 2004). She will need to slowly be able to say her husbands name and slowly start looking at pictures and then ultimately visit his grave (Bonanno, 2004). This way she will be able to face her feelings, process them, and then move forward in
Kate never finds out that Petruchio was paid to marry her. Petruchio and Patrick both use deceitful tactics in order to be with their respective loves. They disguise their true feelings and motives for being with their girl. Both Kat and Katherine fall in love with the man who was paid to be with her.
The sound used in this scene are all diegetic, the sounds of gunfire and explosions show that the characters in this scene are in very real danger of being shot or blown up, this helps the viewer develop a more personal connection with the characters since the scene is towards the end of the film, the viewer has developed a personal connection with the characters and do not want them to die. The diegetic sounds of military personnel can be heard, this is used to show the urgency that the military personnel have to get The Sapphires and Dave out of the dangerous situation. This scene is used to emphasise the danger that Dave and The Sapphires are in very real and very lethal danger, the mixture of sinister camera angles to emphasise the visual danger that the characters are in to the inhospitable sounds portrayed by the scene to highlight the explosive danger that the characters are in. The lighting used features the darkness and the difficulty to see due to the night sky.
In the movie Silver Linings Playbook there are two main characters, Pat and Tiffany, whom portray a type of mental illness. Below, I will explain each character in regards to their symptoms and portrayal of mental illness and compare the information discussed in the Abnormal Psychology Textbook.

The film starts out with orchestral music, and shows James Dean's character, Jim, drunk on the ground of a sidewalk. The sound of a police siren is heard and used as a transition into the next scene that takes place, understandably, in a police station. While in the police station, Jim is yelling along with the sound of the siren, and humming loudly to give the impression that he is drunk. At one point in the scene he is brought into another room with an officer, and begins to punch a desk. The sound effects are loud, and the he pauses, and music begins again when he begins to hurt. Again, a siren is played at the transition to the next scene. However, for the most part, score music is played during all transitions.

Sound is an incredibly relevant part of filmmaking. Although often misunderstood, it helps to generate a more realistic episode by recreating the sonic experience the scene needs. Its main goal is to enhance the emotions that each section is trying to convey by adding music and effects alongside moving images. Psycho (Hitchcock, 1960), is one of the most popular films of the XX Century (Thomson, 2009). Commonly recognised as a masterpiece for its cinematographic, editing and musical values, it changed cinema forever by “playing with darker prospects (…) of humanity such as sex and violence (Thomson, 2009)”. As an audience we are manipulated from the moment a film begins. In this essay I wish to explore how The Conversation’s use of sound design has directly controlled our perceptions and emotional responses as well as how it can change the meaning of the image. I would also like to discover how the soundtrack guides the audience’s attention with the use of diegetic and nondiegetic sounds.
...te the mood and feeling that he wants from the film. In The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo sound effects are used in a very subtle manner to motivate large pieces of the plot. For example, in the scene when Martin Vanger allows Mikael into his house and treats him to wine and dinner, a constant whistling of wind can be heard until Martin eventually gets up and closes the door, allowing Martin’s mistress to reveal that nobody knows that she is there, and thus giving Martin the ability to kill her. This sound effect returns later at a very pivotal point in the story when Mikael breaks into Martin’s house to find evidence, and is caught by Martin because Martin hears the whistling of the open door and goes to close it. It is this kind of attention to detail that causes Fincher’s films to be so articulately entertaining, yet also extremely deep and important to his time.
