There are three types of irony that we all are aware of. There is situational irony, dramatic irony, and verbal irony. Many people identify mostly situational irony, but fall short of understanding the other two ironies. Dramatic irony is when an audience, or viewers, know something that the character doesn’t know. Verbal irony is when an individual says something that is the opposite of what they actually mean. Examples of dramatic irony are everywhere. Most of your dramatic irony examples come from Tv shows and movies. For instance, in the Disney movie Frozen, Anna, Elsa’s younger sibling, is unaware that Elsa has very strong powers that she has yet been able to control, but the audience quickly find outs Elsa’s dilemma early in the movie.
