In communicating and promoting the 10 core values to employees their knowledge and acceptance of it can influence their work behavior and attitude. Tony encourages personal and profession growth. Arrangement for informal/formal training on organization values and advance of one’s career will drive employees to work hard and seek opportunities to develop new skills that extract positive behavior. Even though Tony is the face of the company, he does not like the attention of public speaking especially if he can avoid it by getting an employee to take his place. Tony seems to be a social person but I think it is in an environment of hanging around friends. It is not a bad think because being around a lot of people or having the spotlight can drain a person energy and make them feel uncomfortable. But as the CEO of Zappos, he has to put that aside and do his job. One of Tony greatest strengths is his attitude. He believe in himself and have a never give up attitude that he inspire others to have when working for his company. Another one is being a dreamer. Even as a young child, Tony dream of running his own business and making plenty of money. Some of his business did not fan out but he continued to stay focus on making his dream work out. Last greatest strength but not the only one that Tony has is honesty. Tony keeps his employees, customers and vendor in the know by sending emails of what is going on with the company so it would be no surprise when things are good or bad. He wants to be the one to make sure that it is not heard from gossip in the work place. This is a good thing because people will get the information from the top and not interpret information from what they heard from co-workers. Tony success started when he was a young boy. At a young age, Tony started off trying to make money off of selling worms because he was trying to be a competitor to a business that he heard was a number one worm seller. The failure of this did not deter him from still trying to figure out a way to make money. His continuation of finding a business still did not pan out as he tried to do a newsletter that was called the Gobbler but did not sell enough to encourage him to keep it going.
