When encountering a good book, many emotions, ideas, and places feel intertwined with your current life. When one gets connected with the time period and the important elements within the text a new realm of possibilities opens. Each individual piece of writing has the power to convey anything the author would like elaborate on. It could inspire change or reaffirm beliefs. The delivery could take place in many different ways such as a narrative, biography, diary or journal. Despite the diversity of delivery, the message remains most important. When I entered college writing as a new senior, I was intimidated to say the least. I had heard a lot of past Wahlert student’s look back on their time in this class. I elaborate on the methods of capture and skills acquired. In my second story, “Untouched Land”, I detail a significant place in my life. I take the reader through a storm on a beach and the sights, sounds, feelings, and smells. My third story outlines a significant event of visiting Washington, D.C.. This piece was titled, “111 Russell Senate Office Building, Washington, DC 20510.” It incorporated the emotion, and sights of our historic city. Fourth, titled “Frozen in Time.” I talk more about my love of photography. This piece differs from the diagnostic, because it includes the details on how to capture an image. It dives into the nitty gritty and teaches one how to photograph a beach sunset. In my fifth story, convince the reader, I inspire the reader to take change. In this letter to Americans I signal the need for net neutrality and the implications of a repeal. My first semester collection ends off with my sixth essay titled “Grandpa Necas”. In this short story I talk about the lessons and values my grandpa instilled. I also examine his significance in my
