Are school uniforms mandatory in public schools? No, schools uniforms should not be mandatory in public schools. In public schools you have a lot more to deal with than uniforms. Some uniforms cause bullying. How they look at people. How they wear them.
One reason why we should not have uniforms in public schools are that it will not show who you are. Uniforms will loose your identity to become who you are. Wearing uniforms do not allow you to show your individuality. Uniforms can be uncomfortable. Uniforms tuck people away to show who you actually are. Without uniforms you can show your identity. This is how some people show how they feel. Wearing uniforms takes away your freedom of whom you are. Here it does not let you be yourself.

For example, Girls have to wear skirts. Maybe some girls want to wear pants. They want to wear different colors that are not their uniform. Another example, Boys have to wear pants. Maybe some of the boys want to wear shorts. Boy and girls have a right to wear what they want.
Another bad thing about uniforms is the cost. Some uniforms cost about $249 dollars a year. Some families cannot even buy uniforms for their children because of the price itself. Parents are the ones that are buying the clothes. Another thing about the cost is that you are always growing. So the more you grow, the more it is going to cost. To begin, school uniforms are economic. When schools have a uniform policy, it makes it easier on the children and parents. It is convenient because a child can just go to their closet and pick out a uniform and be ready for school. It is also very cost effective. Parents can outfit their children twice a year, warm and cold weather uniforms, rather than spending hundreds of dollars trying to keep up with expensive, name-brand clothing.
