Children in India are under-educated or even denied the right to education, so what can be done to persuade the government to focus on improving educational services? Under the leadership of corrupted politicians, India has not been able to develop its educational system, decreasing the access to schools to Indians. Although some reforms have been put in place by public and private institutions, such as the government opening 2,500 new schools, and increasing the financial support that it provides to the schools, Indians right to education needs to be fully reinstated.
The Indian government is aware of the fact that children are not receiving education but it chose to not do anything about it. Indian education started regressing when India stopped using the gurukul system. The gurukul system was a system where there was a group of boys who were taught by one teacher in all subjects. The gurukul system came out of use when “the modern school system was brought to India, including the English language, originally by Lord Thomas Babington Macaulay in the 1830s” (The Edu. System in India”2). The modern school system consist of more students and there is a greater difference between the ration of teachers to students. Also, had the modern school system not have been introduced to India than the quality of education in India would have been greater. The modern school system destroyed the sense of loyalty that the students had for the teacher and vice versa. The modern school system is being affected because it does not have the financial support from the government. Education is the source of all power allowing people to achieve any dream they choose. A person without a true education is nothing more than an empty shell living an empty and pointless life. The process of education begins at conception and the human mind continues to learn until the time of their death but most lessons are learned in the first five years of life. When the topic of education is discussed it isn’t how much is needed but how best to provide the education. The need for high quality education is typically agreed upon; how best to provide that education is not as easily as settled. The line in the sand has been drawn with neither side willing to back down and possible casualties are the children.

In the past, individuals taught the education system from the oldest member of the family to children, and their members were charging fees from the families that sent their children to them. Which meant that education was an important thing in all ages. Nowadays, the education is shaped to an official system run by professional people in governments and many countries invest high amounts towards education which makes evidence of how important it is in our current life. Every country has a different system of education based on their financial stability, government infrastructure and the standard of the government officials. In some places resources are plentiful and some places there are none. To really be successful in this global knowledge era people must bring their ideas together and access the necessary results to be productive in a society. Teachers and leaders are coming together to access and generate new knowledge and apply that knowledge to enhance livelihoods and create new solutions, products, jobs, wealth and health. When people with ideas come together and access the necessary resources, we see the results in various forms such as; drugs, better crops, and innovations in learning.

In India there are still many villages which fall into the clutches of illiteracy in a worse manner than the others. The moneylenders, the zamindars, the contractors manipulate them into believing facts that further deteriorates their position. They are devoid of their basic rights, of the privileges that they are offered by the constitution of India as a measure to bring equality.
