A couple of weeks ago, I was challenged to break a board with my bare hand. On the board, I wrote down some obstacles that prevent me from pursuing things I want to achieve. After breaking the board with my bare hand, I've never felt more alive.
Now that the school semester is on the horizon. I decided to reflect on what I wrote down and share with y'all.
KEEP FIGHTING. KEEP PUSHING. Often you'll encounter people who don't find you worthy. Bringing the mentality of "You're not good enough", but really you're better. Haters, doubters, non-believers whatever you want to call them are trying to block you from your success.
Remember to not let these people get you down. Just know, you're gonna come back. You'll be stronger and better because
At some point in life most people have allowed at least one challenge to defeat them, if not more. Then there are those people who view these challenges as simply that, a challenge. This was the theme throughout Kyle Maynard’s novel, No Excuses, I learned that it is how we go about conquering these challenges that defines us as people. Throughout his novel he notes things will not always come easily; therefore, it is up to us to dig deep and conquer our goals. By finding alternate routes and adjusting your mindset, we are able to achieve any goal we set our minds to. Because it is not the obstacle that holds us back but it is ourselves that keeps us from fulfilling our greatest
A pipeline welder is my post secondary plan. A pipeline welder is someone who travels place to place to weld on pipelines. My uncle is a pipeline welder he travels to offshore rigs or to different countries to weld on pipes that his company uses to drill for oil. These welders make between $50,000 to $185,000 a year. This job requires at least a high school diploma others employers look for certifications from technical schools.
Finally, I learned how to be more responsible by myself. In my last classes, my teachers were technically always there to tell me step by step what to do and how to do my assignments. In a certain way, it made me kind of lazy and entirely dependent of my teachers. However in this course it was not like that; instead, my instructor just gave me the assignments, instructions, and deadlines, and I must write my essays and summited it on time. This absence of guide absolutely made me to react that it was time to me to do my assignments by myself, demonstrate what I know, and ask for help just whenever it is
As has probably been said by many students before me, I have found the first half of this semester to be very enlightening. The history of the zombie genre, the depths of the social commentary, the insight into my own personal flaws as a human being, have really opened my eyes. I have felt a slight shift in my own values. When shopping recently on vacation, I found myself asking if I really needed certain items. Was my desire to consume and possess clouding my need for the item? Often times my answer to myself was yes. I have found myself wanting to get out and actually do more activities instead of sitting behind my computer and reading about them. If I were to be asked what I have learned so far, I would have to answer that I don’t want to be a zombie, shuffling through life, consuming whatever is put in front of me.
Being a welder was never in my mind for a career, but that changed when I started taking welding classes at the Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District. I've been welding for two years and am now enrolled at Bay West Community College for their Early College Program for welding. After I complete the one year program with Bay I will be moving forward with my education. I will be deciding between Ferris State University for Welding Engineering, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College for Machine Tool CNC Technician, or The Advanced Welding Institute. After I complete the rest of my schooling I will also be moving forward to become a Weld Inspector. I do not want to be just a welder I want to be higher up and have a better education, so that
A time that I did something that I thought I couldn't do, was to stick up for others. When I was in sixth grade, during recess, I saw a girl named Melissa crying. I went up to her and asked what was wrong. She said that people were talking about her behind her back, and that she felt awkward around them. I consoled her by letting her know that friends don't talk behind friends backs and that you have other people that you can talk to during recess. It bothered me how Melissa was sad. She felt a little better after we talked and then we played games.
Orientation, introduction, moving in classes, fraternity exams midterm finals, all flying by with the roar of drag car screaming past you on the side. That is how this past semester has felt like. So far everything has been a blur, "tunnel visioned" towards the end that is now wider as I start to comprehend all of the emotions and information from this past semester. Sitting here in front of my computer finishing on of the last essays I will write this semester about the thing that I have done this semester. Tired, hungry and wanting to go home have been the reoccurring themes so far in my college career.
You can’t expect success if you quit with each curveball that life throws at you, rather, what you need to do is to dig deep into your inner self and find the strength to keep moving forward in order to come out on top. That’s the message I try to send to people whenever I attempt something, no matter what challenge comes my way, I will overcome it and I will succeed. My goal is to prove to as many people as I possibly can through my perseverance and hard work that anything that you set your mind to can be achieved, especially if you have the heart and dedication to push
We have had a very busy schedule for theology this semester. We started this year off with introductions so we could become acquainted with each other. Then you taught us your 10 Rules, the Circle of Meaning, Marg Barbra, and 4H Religion. After that, we learned how to write Mark's gospel. Writing Mark's gospel gave us the opportunity to study the Bible in a different way. We memorized Philippians 2: 5-11, which addresses the incarnation of Jesus. We also learned to write Hebrew, which helped us gain perspective on what Jesus was like a human. You taught us about Jesus from a low theology point of view. Then the Humpty Dumpty PowerPoint showed that we should not add things in the Bible that are not there. Towards the end
Welding is a very important tool used in our daily lives. Welding is the process of joining two metal pieces together by applying heat. A filler helps to make the joint. Everything we use from trucks to houses have some type of welding in them. There are many types of welding careers to choose from. There is a great demand for welders today. My project was to build a table and candelabra out of metal. Most of the metal I gathered came from junk yards and had to be cleaned of rust.
This semester wasn't as horrible as I predicted it would. The whole idea of having a class on writing abilities seemed like an insane idea because I never thought I could actually write a paper that would be filled with the correct grammar and punctuation. I am grateful for this class because it taught me exactly how to write correctly. This class helped me to improve greatly on punctuation. I always used to struggle with punctuation, but recently I have succeeded well.
Welding is literally building a new world. The world would not be the way it is today if it was not for welding. As you look around, almost everything you see may have been welded. Welding has changed our world in numerous ways over the last hundred years, and continues to do so with the new advances and groundbreaking ways to weld.
GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) is more economic; Springer reports that “ GMAW is an economic process because it has higher speeds and higher deposition rates than manual arc welding. There is also no need to constantly change electrodes” ( Page 11). GMAW has a higher speed, which means that you can get the job done faster. It also has high deposition rates which makes the weld look clean and smooth.” This method can be used for a high range of work, but it is not suited for repair work because of it’s weld quality” (Page 4). This process can be used for many variations of work including root welds, joints, T’s, butts, laps, and many more applications. Even though its used for many practices, it is not recommended to use this method for repair work because of the quality of the welds. “ It’s easy to use and it is inexpensive to afford now with 110v machines. But you cannot weld for a long time like a 220v machines would produce. Both have different duty cycles” (Parag. 7). M.I.G is something anyone can learn easily, it’s inexpensive to afford. 110v machines don't bring out the best power to weld, because these machines do not have a good duty cycle. Most people prefer 220v machines because they produce more work, even if they are more expensive. GMAW is the cheapest most reliable process for welding.
Summer break was over, and it was the time to go back to school to my eleventh grade. School for me wasn’t that different as my summer break. I never felt like not going to school after a long summer break because I used to have a lot of fun in school. School for me was a place where you would socialize, gossip, brag, drive attention, miss conduct, daydream, text students, sing, ask silly questions and flirt with girls. I think now you know how my days at school used to be. However, a day has come that I would not expect it to come at all. I suddenly became a much disciplined student that I would not do anything out of the way. It all happened when I meet my new physics professor Jamal Betar who has wonderful qualities that amaze him from other teachers, and he also gave me the true meaning of education that I have never thought of before in my life.
The production process is time consuming as they need to perform no. of Quality checks.
