Unfortunately, the quality of health care in America is flawed. Information technology (IT) offers the potential to address the industry’s most pressing dilemmas: care fragmentation, medical errors, and rising costs. The leading example of this is the electronic health record (EHR). An EHR, as explained by HealthIT.gov (n.d.), is a digital version of a patient’s paper chart. It includes, but is not limited to, medical history, diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans. The EHR, then, serves as a resource that aids clinicians in decision-making by providing comprehensive patient information.

Health information technologists are a vital part of the health care industry. This career handles the assembly, organization, and security of all patient records. Due to the aging of the baby boomers and the rise of electronic health records, more and more health information technologists are needed to fill this job (Makely, 2017). According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2017), “employment of health information technicians is projected to grow 13 percent between 2016 and 2026, faster than the average for all occupations.”
Ethical informatics issues arise in all industries involving technology, and healthcare is not an exception. The informatics world in healthcare is complex and complicated because of the number of systems required interact with each other to store and retrieve data, and efficiently deliver accurate information to the healthcare provider. In return, the healthcare provider uses that information to make clinical care decisions in the best interest of the patients. However, this is where one of the main informatic issues in healthcare arises: access to health medical records. I chose this informatics topic because my goal in the future is to become an EHR application analyst.
First of all, I want to talk about my purpose plan and go over my goals, interest, and strengths that will help me to be successful in my education a career goals. My goal is to graduate the Fire Science Academy with my Associates in Science degree in Fire Science, EMT certification, and my Minimum Standards certification. To add on to my goals, I would like to complete these three things in the two years that Valencia would like me to complete them in. My short term education goal is too graduate this program with in the time but, too also have a GPA of at least 3.5 and my long term education goal is to go back to school to achieve a bachelor’s degree. From the beginning of this course I had my mind set on graduating with a degree in child development. This degree will get me my dream career of opening up my own child care and preschool center. I have decided to pursue my life as a child care provider because my mother has owner a small family child care (in home) for over twenty years. I have grown to love working with the children and helping run the business. Owning a child care center is not only a dream of mine but it is also my passion and I am determined to make it happen. And, with the help of this course I will be able to make my dream career come true.
All your life growing up, you don 't have to make any big decisions. This all changes senior year when you have to make a decision about what you are going to do with your life after high school. What you choose to do can dictate how you spend your time and money. If you do not make a choice you will not be able to move on towards being a self supporting adult. Decisions are hard to make but essential to keep moving forward.
It has been my craving in every aspect of life to do things differently, chart my own path and tread in to uncharted territory. Nine years back, this what made me join a course in bachelor of marine engineering at MERI, the only institute in India exclusively offering such a course. Idea of venturing in to high sees, braving the storms with only handful of resources and almost completely cut off from out side world made adrenaline pumping in to my veins. All this along with opportunity to get exposure to highly sophisticated systems on board ships, which was fodder for my technical bent of mind seemed perfect for my adventure seeking personality. Through out my career progression I have made such decisions like joining LNG shipping pool of my company and seeking extra professional qualification of eligibility to sail on diesel engine driven as well as turbine driven ships
